We are in the market for a saw mill. We settled on the Hud-son HFE 36. We called corporate. They sent us to John Dunlap from Soulsbyville Ca. We inquired about this model and he happened to have this machine at his "yard." We said great it will take us 4 hours to get there. I don't have a trailer so I paid my friend some gas money 8 hrs round trip to help me out. We get there and the machine he had was sitting on the track sitting in dirt wrapped in a tarp. Ok whatever we look at the machine and its rusty and old looking, then he proceeds to tell us that it was used in demos the last 2 years. I paid 8,000$ for a used saw? Well how many demos? He claims 2-3 ...he said according to hud-son it's a brand new saw. Anyways take it home against better judgement, but we call hud-son corporate immediately! How dissatisfied we were will old rusty saw. We used it to cut a log and one of the main bearings started oozing grease. We call corporate, They say no problem we'll ship another. So we said ok drive the four hours each way again with my friend and his trailer. We get the brand new machine shipped to John Dunlap again. We get there and it's beautiful shiny and new. However my husband wanted to raise the machine but John insisted not to because it was better for shipping. He had a brand new building being built (I'm assuming because we complained about the machine not being stored in a warehouse) lots of commotion going on so We said ok get it on the trailer and bring it.home. ( I have a dashcam with all the video footage ) get it on the track and we get a log pulled up to the sawmill and try to crank the machine up and it won't go....the fucking machine is bent. The main elevation rod for the machine to go up is bent! Now John Dunlaps "yard" is the front yard of his house will tools and machines wrapped in tarps... I will be adding pictures in the coming days of his horrendous "business" and his horrible business dealings.
