    Our home was built in 2014. It has beautiful cosmetic features however there are several areas of low quality. The floors & tile have had to be replaced. The carpet was low quality & easily able to be lifted off the tack strips. Every room that has tile has crumbling grout, lifting tiles & “hollow” tiles. Quality tile work should last for many years. The shower curtain rod was hung & they used sanded caulk to anchor it to the wall. It was 1/2 on the wall & 1/2 on the tile (it was a tension rod so not sure why it was even needed). All of the caulking had to be redone after 5 years & many areas that had caulking was messy or not sealed correctly. The exterior hardiboard needed to be resealed & re-painted after only 4years. The AC drain was run across the garage with minimal slope so it clogs frequently. It easily could have been run directly behind the unit since it’s on an exterior wall (per our home inspector & HVAC company) instead of across the garage. A seemingly obvious design flaw. The dormers were trimmed in wood instead of cement board leading to rot after 5 years. Also the exterior trim is wood instead of cement board. Since gutters were not installed on the whole roof, some of the window trim has had to be replaced after 5 years due to rot. Overall, the home is ok. The need to re-evaluate their tile subs as this seems to be a common flaw in their homes (per word of mouth) & some of the materials could be better. Our inspector said that home was solid…. However given that these things are already an issue. We have had to put quite a bit of money into repairs after only 4 years. Many of these things could have been avoided with slightly better materials (or better labor) used during construction. I have concerns about what the future will hold.

    We purchased a home from Duration Builders in 2015. 4bed/3bath. Only myself and my husband lived there until we had a baby in 2019, so there was low traffic. Our floors started literally falling apart in 2018. Tile lifting and grout crumbling. We were told that the floors were not under a warranty. 70% of our floors have lifted since then, all tile. We are now paying around $12,000 to get new floors. Tile should last a bit longer..... low quality.

    GREAT communication, exceptional quality, and timely completion. We have enjoyed our interactions with Duration throughout the planning and construction phase of work on our new home.
