Elander Mechanical installed our HVAC system in a new Pulte built home of 4,500 sq ft finished living area. Elander installed a 2.5 ton AC compressor which was found to be inadequate for the size home. The model home, with an unfinished basement, is exactly the same as our home except it faces north and our windows face south.The model has a 3 ton AC compressor. Our compressor keeps running constantly when outside temperatures go towards 90 degree F, and above 90 it does not cool the home to a livable temperature. We had 2 independent HVAC installers look at the installation, and we paid one to do a load calculation (Model J) for the entire home. The result was the need for a 3.5-4 ton system. Elander and the builder Pulte takes a distance to the issue and even though we asked for the Elander load calculation, they have not offered that to us. What are they hiding. Why can Elander not accept their mistake and live up to that they made a mistake. Note that smaller homes also built by Pulte next to ours have 3 ton units. We paid $6,000.00 extra to get a good HVAC system and instead we were cheated. Be on the watch-out if you deal with this company.
