  Build a deck

  $7,500

  Tap is a liar and a crook. He will look you straight in the eye and cheat his way out of your money and trust in a decent human being. I SOOO wish I had read the negative reviews before hiring him to build a deck on my home. He completely cut up and destroyed my backyard, stole $7500 down payment and had the audacity to get mad that I would not give him more $. BEWARE! RUN!!!!!!!!!!

  If you want to hire a con man, Tapeni Seufale "tap" is your guy! Never have I ever had more stress and headache than having to deal with him and the guys he hired. We had some work done to our yard and he initially gave us a quote we agreed on. Asked for 70% as a deposit. Half way through the job he said it was too big of a job and asked for more money, thousands of dollars more. I agreed as it was too far in (he had tore up our yard already) and I didn't want short cuts to be taken. He made it seem like he was the main guy doing the work, however, truth is he gives the job out to someone else and pays them... we never knew that. He refused to give the contact info of the guy actually doing the job and it was very hard for us to communicate what exactly needed to be done. Of course when I talked to the guy actually doing the job, he says what I am asking to be done in my yard cannot he done due to this and that and many other reasons... when Tap all along says yes it can be done. How frustrating is that? I once again settled for less and said no big deal. When the job was "done" he demanded.. yes, DEMANDED, to be paid in full. He still had about 10% left of the job to be done and I was told he would come back in 2 days to finish. 2 months later and still hasn't finished. He even tried to ignore my messages and calls. I will give him another month and he will hear from my lawyer. No one has tested my patience as much as him.

  Sod replacement

  $12,800

  If it was possible to leave less than 1 star I would. I just needed a few hundred square feet of sod installed. Tapeni Seufale quoted the job at $8.00 per square foot, and before I even told him to start, showed up and began removing my old grass. I checked other landscaping companies to find that the normal price is $1.60 per square foot.

  Tapeni then started asking for $7,000 down and I told him the price was so far out of the stratosphere that I would probably go with a different company. I paid for the work he and his crew completed, only to have Tapeni and 5 of his guys try to force their way into my house and threatened me if I didn’t pay him what he wanted. All the while he was insulting to me, talking about how religious he is and how bad of a person I am.

  Avoid this company at all costs. Less than knowledgeable, FIVE times the normal price and downright thuggish about payment.

  He destroyed my front and back yard. He cut down trees and didn't grind out the stumps. He left all the yard debris that he was suppose to haul off. He demanded half of the money up front. When I refused to pay him anymore money he threatened to return and tear down our fence. He defrauded me of my money, he knew nothing about grinding out stumps. He had no intentions of cleaning up the mess he made. I am going to make a formal complaint and hopefully his so called license will be revoked. He cheated me out of my money. I'm a senior women and I believe he thought I would be an easy mark. Sadly he was half right.

  Grind a porch.

  nded to a referral service , PORCH, to get a concrete porch modified. It has a slight reverse slope. Tapeni Seufale called, came to my home, looked at the task. He knew he needed to grind a slope into the concrete as is done on many sidewalk repairs and driveway entries in newly constructed neighborhoods. Grinding concrete is not a mystery. He gave me what I consider a very high estimate for the work. He then stated he would not begin until he was paid 60%.

  I paid. He came 2 days late with a hand saw, a hammer and a chizzle. He did not bring a grinder. He worked for an hour or so, showing me he had NO clue how to grind a slight slope into concrete. He then told me he would need to tear out the entire slab, nearly doubling the cost. I said NO. I just wanted a simple grind task.

  He then told me he would contact his concrete guy, The concrete guy came a week later and told me it would take 2.5 hours. Sadly, after 3 weeks of excuses and missed appointments, all arranged through Tapeni, as I was never given the subcontractor's contact information.

  It has been over a month. I askedTapeni for my money back, he once again offered to come later in the week. I told him I did not want him to come back, that he was fired. He accused me of being rude.

  He mislead me over his qualifications, skills, tools, and expertise. He maybe well intentioned, but he has been untruthful. He has, of this writing, not returned my money. He has not met any appointment schedule or promised service. I have not received my money back. Tapani Seufale has defrauded me of my deposit. If he repays what he has to this point fraudulently taken, I will amend this review.

  I will be contacting the state licensing agency with a formal complaint.
