I wish I could give minus 0 stars. The project was demo deck & hot tub, rebuild the simple rectangular deck, demo kitchen removing peninsula, moving a pocket door, new cabinets, quartz counters, tile backsplash new can lighting, under cab strip lighting, new vinyl. Estimate by project mgr (who subsequently quit telling us he wasn't being paid) was 3-4 days deck, 7-10 days kitchen. Deck began May 24, a day late. It is now mid-August. Kept promising deck rails. No rails, the deck still unfinished. Work was done extremely poor and half a$$ed. Rarely showed up. At least 3 of his skilled workers were nothing more than landscapers, as in Hispanic guys that mow your lawn, not landscapers who make your yard dreams come true. He would repeatedly lie to us that our "Materials" were "in"...the materials for the above-stated kitchen necessities that we PAID $30,000.00 for in advance! When we finally figured out he was lying through his teeth, NOTHING had been ordered or paid for. He did, with our money, by the pressure treated lumber and composite decking, bits, and pieces of electrical items, upon pressure bought the vinyl flooring and...wait for it...LOTS OF NEW TOOLS! He had no money so, without knowing how bad his work was, we let him continue working so we could recoup SOME of our $30,000. We ended up paying over $9,500 to (re) buy our cabinets, counters, lights, strip lights...and now flooring. Because he put the vinyl in so badly our new contractor must rip it all out and start over with new vinyl. Badly? Wasted huge pieces, 3-2" tears at door corners in the hallway, 4 different "puzzle pieces" that he cut off by mistake and just puzzled them back together with the original piece and glued them down. Huge bubbles in both hall and kitchen because he cut it badly and twisted/shifted it so the vinyl would fit the floor space! Cut a new pocket door and did not mud the jagged edges, just put the trim up and let the 1" x 18" jagged exposed drywall to the outside of the trim! Dropped our brand new DW (thankfully, we bought our 5 appliances ourselves!) and tried to deceive my husband that the legs were twisted and the door pulley broke "out of the box"...except there was an impact mark in the vinyl 2" in front of the worst leg. My Marine had to run him off the property that night after lying and trying to blame his mistake elsewhere. Removed the terra cotta tile from our entry--but didn't dust screen properly (1-10'w x 4' tall plastic is inept, to say the least!) and now I must clean not only the kitchen stuff stored in the dining room but EVERY FREAKING ROOM IN THE HOUSE because it has a layer of red dust on everything. The last actual 'work' he did was July 7. Of course, he kept promising to bring our deck railings. Upon texted pressure, he came July 14 to remove garbage he'd left on our front lawn for weeks on end, and returned July 18 for the balance of it. That is the last time we saw him, exactly 4 weeks ago. He abandoned all his (our?) tools. We have had to spend approximately another $8,000 to hire a GOOD contractor who is fitting us into his busy schedule as he can as a favor to mutual friends. I was without a functional kitchen for two months. Go after his $12,000 bond, you say? Before we could 2 others filed for a total amount of just barely under $16,000. And yes, if anyone thinks this is sour grapes, I have detailed calendars and more photos than I can count. However, we are greatly pleased with Solid Rock, Eric Kliskey, who has stepped in to finish and repair the damage. Thanks, Eric, you're the best!

One month to complete a one week deck project. Obtained project bid from salemen from J&J Builders who was unreachable after work began. Began project on start date with demo. Material was special ordered but not enough to complete project. Time passed waiting for intial material to arrive and not knowing when and if workers would arrive. After some material arrived, work slowly began. Workers would arrive for a couple hours and then not be seen for days. When material ran out, workers arrived with nothing to do. Hector the owner did the ordering and came out 3 times to measure to order more material to finish the job. There was never a plan drawing or list of materials needed from Hector for the workers to follow. Workers were clueless as to what was needed to be done. We had to repeat ourselves about the project requirements to each worker everyday since there was so many new workers and no communication among them. Unfortunately, got caught in the middle dealing with a
sales person subbing my deck job out and dealing with many others who over a months time, did not know what they were doing. Based on the quality of work, it was obvious this was their first attempt at building a composite deck. Lacking attention to detail. Used defective materials in project. They didn't know how the finished deck should look. Finishing details not up to par. Not very professional. This was not a pleasant experience as a homeowner.

Hector Farias is a thief. He stole my $10,000 down payment and he never performed any work. He will not return my repeated calls.
