We hired Tom (Home Building Solutions) over ten years ago to renovate our bathroom, and I am still finding (and paying for) mistakes that his crew made. (examples; wrong seal on toilet leaked sewage water into our basement, tiling/grout failure and failure to provide remedy! It's a long list, but just got longer.
*Recently discovered that the shower faucet was installed/angled such that a leaky cartridge would drain BACK INTO THE WALL...which it did, and has been a costly repair.
*The shower faucet fixture was installed in a location where the installer cut away >70% of a wall stud (structural) support, and was completely split/broken by the load of the roof when I demolished a wall section to hunt for the source of the leaking.
*The framing supports for the plumbing and drywall were totally amateur; sloppy, loose, imprecise!!
*Electrical installation of lights failed, loose wire connections were arching up in my attic and caused a small fire (contained inside the steel box, thank God).
*Plumber had dumped all trash (example, the old toilet wax ring!) into the walls before dry-wall. My list could go on-and-on, but these are the most costly mistakes. I have spent way too much making repairs for the consistently sloppy work done by his crew.
I received NO call-backs from Tom after my last payment had cleared. Tom had encouraged us to skip the permitting process and I was naive enough to trust him. Buyer beware!
