  Stole our money. No work performed. Cannot even commit to a date to come out. Spoke to many others he’s done this too also- do not trust him. The positive reviews on his Facebook are from his friends. I’m assuming the ones on Google are just from fake accounts.

  THIEF - LIAR - PROFESSIONAL VICTIM AND CON-ARTIST
  I am pursuing legal action against Giovanni from Gigs Construction so I cannot disclose many specifics about my contract with him, but as reviews about my experience go, I am going to share the nutshell facts of my dealings with this con-artist that calls himself a contractor.

  For starters, I hired him in Oct of 2020 for a job that should have not taken any more than 5 months. At the 8 month mark, after he LIED to me numerous times about a completion date (I have the text messages if anyone wants to see them - you can reach me at [email protected]) I told him I was withholding the last 10% of the payment until he completed the job in a 30 day time frame I gave him. The work he had remaining was no more than 7 days. He scheduled his crews for multiple other jobs to the point where I wouldn't see anyone working on my project for weeks at a time - then he would blame COVID - he told me 3 separate times his crews had COVID. In the meantime, houses were going up right down the street from me, from breaking ground to completion in SEVEN MONTHS. Here I was, a basement project - and couldn't get his shady scheduling practices or flat out LIES about when he would work, to complete it in 9 months time.

  While dealing with him, he would schedule people on off hours, and in the time he and his people were here, his employees STOLE A TAPE MEASURE AND A SINK FROM MY PROJECT SITE. DO NOT LET THIS THIEF INTO YOUR HOUSE.

  He played professional victim when I demanded a deadline and said he "wouldn't be pushed around" by a paying customer that "had to be in control" Sorry folks, I guess if you are paying a contractor to do your work, you don't get to be in control. I have the text messages for anyone that wants to see them. When I started putting the screws to him for a deadline, he started telling me his "lawyer" would contact me. Needless to say, THIS WAS A LIE AS WELL. No call ever came, because he never had a lawyer. I on the other hand, had my lawyer contact him with a certified mail demand letter, which Gigs Construction signed for and accepted. He completely ignored it and we have yet to hear from him or anyone that represents him.

  This is a person that cannot accept and own his mistakes. He is constantly blaming others for his issues, shortcomings and deficiencies, and will compare you and your job to others he has dealt with in an attempt to make you feel as if you are the one in the wrong. As an example, when I complained to him about the alignment of some stack stone that he installed crooked I got "I do it like this all the time, no one has ever complained." Ok, that's great, what's that got to do with me?

  I sorely hope he replies to this so he can prove my points. In the end, for those of us in Illinois, the IHRRA governs what general contractors have to do by law. He violated this act in its entirety. I will prove this in court and will post the outcome here once I do.

  DONT HIRE THIS THIEF AND LIAR.
