Kevin, please let us know who acquired Solar Plus. We had a Schuco Thermal Solar System installed less than 3 yrs ago. The first set of installers left our place with leaking pipes - telling us that the sealants needed time to "seal." They didn't and the company sent different installers to fix the mess, they actually did a very good job. Within 3 months both of the solar collector panels had problems with condensation build-up and they needed to be replaced. It took forever for them to order new panels (lots of excuses) and finally replace the faulty panels. Less than 3 yrs after the initial installation; my husband noticed that one of the panels has a crack running across it. Schuco is supposed to have top-quality solar panels and our panels are still under warranty, the problem is, no one seems to be answering the phones at Solar Plus and all of the mailboxes appear to be full. The BBB rated them as "F" due partially to the number of complaints. It also showed that their license was suspended on 12/6/11. Why doesn't that surprise me? Not sure where this leaves us, I'll try calling Schuco USA on Monday and try to find remedy with them.

We paid Solar Plus in full for a solar electric system in December of 2010 with the approximate installation date of 2/7/2011. Once they got the very large check, they were impossible to reach. After repeated attempts to contact them and many phone calls and emails, our system is still not installed. The company blames the LADWP for the delay, stating that they are waiting for the rebate before they can purchase the panels. In addition, they have measured our roof three separate times and they still need to come remeasure because they can't get it right. it is now end of June and we are still waiting. After talking to other companies, it has become clear that rebate is just an excuse for incompetence. Others install the system and carry the rebate for as long as need be. In a recent discussion with the Solar Plus CEO Ross Fockler, we found out that the company is being "acquired" in < 30 days and we are concerned that we are going to be left with a large debt that we have been making payments on for the least six months. I hope the new company knows what they are getting into. In essence we have given the Solar Plus an interest free loan in excess of $30,000 and the company has failed to perform.

If Gira Corp is Solar Plus DO NOT USE THEM. We had a solar system installed for the electricity and a solar heating system for the pool. The photovolteric panels were poorly installed with shotty workmanship. The heating system for the pool has been a disaster with incompatable and outdated equipment being installed. They were initially slowly responsive and then finally just flat out ingnored us with correcting this problem. We dealt with Ross Fockler directly about these problems and to date we are going to replace the equipment ourselves and attempt to sue him to recoup our loses.
