Do not hire this man! I'm currently trying to get back the money I gave him to start a job which he never started. He never obtained the permits or structural drawings needs to start my project. Glenn Richardson had to be the worst contractor and biggest lier I have ever met!

We signed a contract with Glenn April 9, 2014 to add to our deck, replace the current surface and rail, and add a new door. It was a big project (960 square feet) and we wanted him to start immediately because we wanted a completed deck by June 30th. Glenn assured us it would be no problem and we would be very happy with the outcome. We went with Glenn because he went to High School with my wife and she told me he had a good reputation. He told us the company (TimberTech) we were using was having a preseason deal that provided a 10% discount so he needed a check immediately. I gave him $15k upfront to secure the discount. My expectation was at least 3 people (including himself) would be here every day until the project was completed. He said no problem. He started the project the beginning of May and he told us it would take approximately 3 weeks. Things started very slow, Glenn would show up for 10-15 minutes in the morning and then leave. His auger broke and he had his guys manually dig the holes. The footers took a 1 1/2 weeks and only 1-2 guys were onsite. As they were framing the deck things continued to progress slowly. Materials would be delivered in small portions and only 1-2 people would be here. Most of the work was being done by a 19 year old who was home for the summer from college. Good kid but we hired Glenn. Glenn continued to show up 10-20 minutes at some time in the day and then disappear. I confronted Glenn and told him I expected him to be here and at least 2 other guys every day. He said different people do different things and there would be different people when the decking was installed. I told him he was not meeting my expectations and I would rather cut ties now and remain friends. He assured me we would be very happy. During the decking phase I realized Glenn had major issues and I had selected the wrong contractor. There continued to be 1-2 people onsite, Glenn would show up for 10-20 minutes and materials were dropped off in portions. I immediately realized he had financial issues. In the middle of June, Glenn told my wife that he just ordered the railing and it would take 2-3 weeks. He also told her he was going on a planned vacation but work would continue. He didn't tell me that because he knew I would go ballistic because he should have ordered the railing at the beginning of the project. Over the next week things really scaled back. There were nice days where no one showed up and there were days that only 3 deck boards were installed. I now realize that Glenn ran out of money. Upon his return from vacation, Glenn told me he was very upset his guys didn't do more and he would get things back on track. The following week he told me he was having problems with the railing supplier. Over a 2 week period he gave me several dates when the railing would be delivered and installed. Nothing ever happened. Last week Glenn called me and said he was dreading this call and told me it’s going to take some time to get the rail. I said stop lying and admit you have money issues. He finally admitted to it. He still tried to convince me that we would be happy. He then tried to talk us into changing the railing. It’s obvious he never placed an order. I asked him to provide me with a Supplier and order number and he refused. I called TimberTech and Tague lumber and both told me the most it would take is 2-3 weeks. Today is August 4th (118 since I signed a contract). It has been 2 1/2 weeks since anyone has been on-site. I have a deck with no railing, trash that has not been removed, and deck boards that are not fully secured. It’s a 10 foot drop and I have 4 kids. I have had to call in another contractor. Glenn basically abandoned a $41k project. He is a nice guy but horrible contractor and manager of projects. What is more concerning is he lied to us on multiple occasions. Looking back, I now realize there was no 10% savings. He wanted a big check to start the process to pay off other things. I would not recommend Glenn Richardson to anyone.

pwieber Pottstown. We hired Glenn in June 2012 to complete a kitchen renovation including taking down a wall. We have a contract with
him and the contract stated this was to be a 3-4 week job, additional 3-4 days for the wall. We are now in October and job is not complete. we waited 7 weeks of no work being done
before sending him a letter of abandonment. Although we have heard from him, it was only to tell us day after day
why he could not come that day. He had asked for money in advance to help with cash flow issues back in July. At
that time we only had our final payment due per the contract. We decided to give it to him because at the time
the work was being done and being done well. Big mistake. Also, back in June, separate from our contract
he said he would take care of our permit. The first week of the job he texted me and said that he heard from
the township and that the permit was ready to be picked up. I asked him how much and he said it would be $393.
We paid him a separate check that has "permit" written on it, which he cashed. We found out in September that
not only did he never get it, he never applied for it. We forced his hand and he did submit the paperwork for
the permit in September. We now have one excuse after the other why he has not picked it up and we found out
the permit will only cost $79. He has not produced the permit nor has he refunded the money that he collected.
He has given us over 20 different excuses through this period as to why he hadn't been to our house to complete the job. -

I had the same experience as Barb and Howard. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FRAUD!!!!
Glenn will make promise after promise and not live up to any of them. He was advanced money for a window project and only did half the work. I grew tired of his excuses and after 4 months of chasing him, took him to court and won a civil action against him. I urge anyone considering him for services to look other more reputable contractors since his word means absolutely nothing. He was given every opportunity to finish what he was paid for in advance and chose to run off with my money. I am going to pursue further legal action against him to recover what I had to pay the other contractor after he abandoned my project.

Glen promised to install a storm door for me seven weeks ago. I got excuse after excuse for not showing up. He didn't answer my phone calls or emails and when he did he said he would be out first thing in the morning. At lunch time I phoned and emailed him to no avail. Later that afternoon, he sent his co-worker to my house with a check for the price of the door I had paid. Apparently he cashed my check and wrote another check since he never even ordered the door! Yet he said he was coming out that morning to square things up and give me a discount on the labor since it's been so long in waiting. Unbelievable! Such lies and dishonesty are not in my book for a recommendation. I would not recommend him for any job.

I hired Glenn, when he was GRE General Contracting, to replace a deck. He never completed the work and has yet to completely refund my deposit. He had a multitude of excuses for both.

First, wish I had checked here before hiring Glenn. Hired him for a generator install and some other work to ensure I had power as my wife is battling cancer. Asked to be paid up front for the materials - BIG mistake. He is a fraud and also a terrible person. Was recommended by my wife since she said 'he is a good guy who I went to high school with'. On top of coming up with excuse after excuse for not being able to start the project, has never returned any of my money - and all of this done to a person who was supposed to be a friend and is battling for her life. There's a special place in hell for people like Glenn. Next step is to take him to court to hopefully get some of my money back.
