I initially had high hopes for working with Goldentree Construction, but unfortunately they ultimately did not deliver on my job, and they left me with unfinished work, a string of broken promises, and much frustration. I cannot recommend them.

I found them on Thumbtack back in November 2020, and invited them to bid on some work that I wanted to do on a house that I was purchasing. Ed met me at the house and we walked through everything in detail. I started off with strong faith in his team's capabilities, and I appreciated his knowledge and his willingness to be candid about what he thought was the best approach for what we wanted to do. The timeline was tight, but he expressed confidence and a commitment to getting the job done right, and on time.

Unfortunately, things started falling apart almost immediately. On the first day of the job, nobody even showed up to start working on the house until something like 10pm in the evening. Ed explained that an emergency had come up at another job that had sidetracked his team, but that they'd make up the time the next day, and he still had confidence they'd get the job done.

But it was not to be. His crew did show up the next day and made some headway on the list, but then they quickly got pulled away to the other job again. This happened again and again over the next few days. I expressed concern that my job wouldn't finish on time, but Ed gave me his assurances. He even promised to waive the final 25% payment for the job, if it was not completed by the agreed-upon date and time. Unfortunately (for both of us), he missed that deadline. I never paid that final 25%, but the job also never got finished.

Ed then promised that he'd still come back and finish the remaining work, but time and time again some emergency would come up, either personal or professional, and my job would get de-prioritized and rescheduled. Over and over again, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, expressed patience and understanding, and put my trust in Ed to deliver what he said he would, or at least to SHOW UP. Each time, that trust was violated. This stretched on for weeks and weeks - a cycle of failure to follow through, then renewed promises, then another failure or round of backtracking.

One of Ed's favorite things to say was "I don't want to make my problems your emergency." But his problems did become my problems, many times over, as he repeatedly failed to live up to his word. I don't doubt that Ed and team experienced some challenges, but the fact is that my job never became a priority for him. Even when each of those challenges were resolved, he would put his attention and resources elsewhere, and by the time it came back around to me... whoops, another emergency came up!

Finally, at the end of February 2021 (nearly 3 months after the original deadline of the job), I had had enough of the broken promises and lack of follow-through, so I gave up and I told Ed that I was moving on. I will now need to hire someone else to finish this job that Ed repeatedly assured me he would get done.

On several occasions during the time we worked together, Ed sought to assure me that Goldentree Construction was a 5-star, high-quality company. In the end, my experience proved otherwise.

0 would be better. Talking over texts and phone conversations since January 4th to get our electrical fixed and certify our electrical box. Ed has blown us off being a no show 9 times, after confirming he’d be here. Said he was en route to our home on several occasions but never showed up, blames computer glitch from new computer management migration, tech didn’t call him, present job took longer than expected, didn’t have address. And more! Ed Jordan is by far the worst liar (and we have the many texts to prove it) . Even today, he said he was on his way at 11:30am. 2:30 still not here. At 3 stated his tech hadn’t called him yet, then stated in text that he would come on his own snd get the job done! Definetly today. It’s 6 pm snd no correspondence. Trying to give a guy the benefit of the doubt is what my hubby did. No more. Ed Jordan at golden tree construction is definetly NOT golden. I finally got my hubby to move on! Poor excuse for a company!
