By Julie K.July 17, 2024Roof, siding, windows$70,000
I hired this contractor to install new windows and siding. Prior to the start of the work, we had ice dam problems with the roof and asked that they replace the roof as well. Somehow, there was a major mix up in ordering the windows and patio door. It took forever to get them. In the meantime, twice the contractor pressured me to give him more payment accelerating what was agreed upon in the contract. He also tried to go back on what was stated in the contract. In the end, I was left with an uncompleted job, because one window and the patio door never showed up. I messaged him many times. I was told he would call me in an hour and never did. I was told several times someone would show up and they didn't. This project started in like February 2023 and is still not complete in July 2024. I would not recommend this guy. He is very inefficient and tries to make you feel guilty for asking that the work you pay for gets completed.

Avoid this company at all costs. Jeremiah Carlson, who runs this company, is unscrupulous and dishonest. I live in Colorado and rent a house I own in the Twin Cities. The HOA at my complex said repair of some rotten boards needed to be done on my deck and they recommended two companies. I chose Greenway Remodeling. Carlson went over April 16 and did the work of replacing 2 boards and claimed to me that it looked good. I asked him to send a photo of the work and he initially gave me the runaround of how he didn’t take a photo. He finally did send one and the work from what I saw in the photo did look fine. I then was at the property on Sept 16 and saw that the photo he sent was angled so that I could not see how bad the work really looked on the right side of the deck. He did not put the boards going all the way across. Instead there was about 1 1/2 to two feet on each board that remained from the old boards. It does not look good at all. So I talked to him on Sept. 18. He said at that point it would have taken too much time to take off a side rail that would have allowed him to put the boards all the way across. He never informed me that the boards didn’t go all way across. And the photo he sent me was misleading since it didn’t show how bad the deck now looks on the right side. I had noted that I didn't go often to the property so he apparently tried to pull the wool over my eyes. He said on Sept. 18 he would send me a check to reimburse me for the $425 I paid for the work so I could have someone else do it properly. He told me to send him my address to mail it to and I did by email. By the next week, I had received no response and no check. I then over the next several weeks left him numerous voice mails and sent him numerous emails and texts and all were ignored. I sent him a final message on October 14, when there was still no check that arrived. He didn’t return that message. So he obviously had no intention of sending me the check. Avoid this company.
