Would not recommend this contractor. Does not show up to work when he says he will, project that was supposed to take 4 weeks took nearly 6 months to complete. Uses good subcontractors but his personal work quality is mediocre. As the general contractor he has poor attention to detail.
Some of the major red flags that should have warned me was that he provides a very loosely worded contract for work that doesn’t include the license number (I looked it up online and verified he had a license), does not give any detailed information about materials and labor and wants 70% paid up front. When asked about such a high payment for the down payment he said it was because too many people have stiffed him on payment. Unfortunately it made sense to a naive newbie who had never hired a contractor before.
