  Total gutter and downspout replacement

  Handlin Construction’s gutter replacement in April 2019 was perfect. The estimate was very thorough and reasonable—it outlined exactly what we got with no additional charges in the end. They identified and fixed roof, fascia, soffit, and flashing problems. The gutters, screens, and downspouts were expertly installed. The pitch, height with respect to the roofline, and downspout locations fixed the old issues we were having with gutters that had been installed for a shake roof in 2007, but not corrected for a new 2009 asphalt shingles roof. Those issues resulted in water backup into the house and water running over and missing the gutters. All three members of the team, 2 long-term technicians and the owner, Chris, could not have been more expert, nor more pleasant to work with—professional, friendly, answered questions patiently, listened, and adapted to new issues. They arrived on time and worked swiftly and steadily; they are paid by the job and not by the hour. They wanted feedback to ensure they were meeting our expectations. Cleanup was meticulous. Warranty is a very fair five years. I highly recommend them and would ask them to do any type of construction work for us, let alone gutters. We clearly got what we paid for. They deserve an A+ rating. Following up on my review from earlier this year. The 6 in. gutters installed by Chris Handlin and his great team have worked beautifully throughout all of the 2019 summer storms. The same is true for the roof repairs they made. We no longer have leaks from the gutters or water backing up into the house. The quality of the workmanship was of the highest standards. Recently, Chris showed that he is not a one-time and disappear type of contractor. He provides repairs to the same high standards. Tree removal workmen accidentally dented one of our 28 ft long gutters on the garage. I contacted Chris to get a replacement and to also add a downspout extension in another area. He responded immediately, saying he could do the work. While I told him it was not a crisis, he had his folks on site within a couple of weeks. On 17 Sep 19, they efficiently and expertly replaced the gutter and reattached the screen gutter guards. As for the downspout extension, I had mistakenly given Chris the wrong color. While my mistake was not their problem, his very impressive foreman and business partner dug in his truck to find the right color paint to fix the problem on the spot. I will definitely hire Handlin Construction again. I trust them to do professional, high quality work every time.
