March 2024 we had a tree fall on our home during an ice storm. Our insurer recommended Insurcomm. We didn’t believe there was any urgent repair needed. A few days later, once the weather warmed up, we found out we had holes in our roof when water started coming through our ceiling. Insurcomm came for mitigation.
We opted to use Insurcomm for the whole project since they were recommended by our insurance company & the folks who came out from Insurcomm assured us that they would help take care of everything. In April Insurcomm came to our home & put paper all over our floors & tore down our ceiling in preparation for the repair work.
We waited for them to come back to complete the repairs. We called & left messages. May & June passed with no work being done. In the meantime, we had paper on our floors & plastic on our ceiling. We struggled to keep our house warm because the heat was escaping through the open ceiling. During rain storms it was so loud from rain hitting the tarps on the roof & then dripping onto the plastic draping on our ceiling. We had water that pooled in the plastic & creatures that found their way in. The weather got warm & our home wouldn’t stay cool because the cool air was going out through the open ceiling & roof. As someone with asthma & allergies, this caused huge problems for me. I had to seek emergency treatment for asthma attacks twice (prior to that it had been 5+ years since my last attack).
Mid-June someone from Insurcomm called to schedule an appointment for July 1st. 10 am came & went. No one showed up. No one called. I called & left a message. I sent an email & got no response. Finally on 7/12, I sent a follow up email letting Insurcomm know that I was finding a different company to work with. We were now 3 plus months since the damage & we needed the work done.
Insurcomm blamed our insurance, but the new contractor had an updated estimate (higher because Insurcomm missed 3 broken rafters), had the work done, and payment in full within two weeks.

Insurcomm took over a year to get my flooded basement done. They also mark up prices charged by the flooring and kitchen companies by 10%. So, they provide you with a list of preferred vendors who are making the invoices out at 10% more so the insurance companies cover their percentage. Also, they took things that I specifically designated to be saved. The onwers take no responsibility for anything. They blame things on staff members and say, oh well, they're no longer with us so what they told you is not valid. Do not use them!!!!

Had a Condo fire last December. Insurcomm boarded up and demolition to first floor. Required to cover party wall and floor to preserve frame. Leaked..no poured from day 1 - 4 months. Had to fix the damage caused from all the water. Severed ties with company. Sent an invoice but
got no response. They tout their training and expertise but cannot tarp a simple job.
Maybe the homeowner doesn't matter.

My condo was destroyed due to the common area sprinkler system. Insurcomm demolished it without a permit and took 17 months to rebuild it to the point that I could use it. Although, they never finished the job. The insurance company allocated so much money for work that was never done. They were unreachable, unprofessional and nasty. They also put things that I wanted discarded into a storage unit and made me pay $6K to get them removed and disposed of. Worst company ever!
