Permits

We used this company for a custom home build and had nothing but problems from the beginning. We made the mistake of trusting the owner at his word, and by the time the project was underway, its very difficult to back out. The owner, Tom Krotzer, shows up at the build site very rarely, and after many phone calls and texts asking him to please check on his subs work, as it was FREQUENTLY work done poorly. He hires subs who must come cheap, because some hadn't ever done the jobs before that they were doing. It was a constant fight to have things done correctly. He just plain will not answer texts and calls when he doesn't want to speak to you. Our project was to be completed July 2019, but is still not complete. We have a disagreement on our kitchen cabinets, and he just won't answer our texts. Because this is a huge pain to try and recover this money, and he's well aware of this, we have decided to be completely finished with attempting to work with him.
He took every dime of our loan, yet we have projects unfinished. To be fair, we had some upgrades done, but had also done alot of work ourselves and provided materials, and was promised to be reimbursed for these things, and that did not completely happen.
My advice is to have EVERY detail written in your contract, down to every little material used and fixture placed. Do not take the builders word, we made that mistake. Keep track of every material you provide, work you complete and phone calls, emails and texts between you and your builder.
