We hired John to build our first custom home in the fall of 2020. He designed plans that did not meet HOA requirements and thus were not approved. He never produced a budget, which was required in our contract. Then our bank refused to finance the project with him as the builder citing his inexperience. When we tried to cancel the contract he lawyered-up and threatened to pursue us for "lost profits" which could be "in the high five figures". We ended up losing $19k and abandoning the project. Shattered dreams.

My husband and I recently purchased a home in Colorado Springs built by J. McLemore Construction and couldn't be any happier with it! We were moving from CA and didn't actually see the home in person until moving day. It did not disappoint! We have been living here for about 6 weeks now and absolutely love it! We are beyond impressed with the attention to detail, thoughtfulness, care and passion that John put into this home. It is clear he takes great pride in his work and is a true craftsman! As with any home (new or old), there were a couple of very minor things to address and John has been very responsive and quick to address those items. With this being our first single family home in a state where it snows, there were also some things that were new to us and John has gone above and beyond in helping us figure those things out. We are so appreciative of his work, professionalism and integrity. A home built by J. McLemore Construction is a home built by someone who cares!
