I would like to say this is not a review of their work, because they never showed up to my house to do the work. This is a review of their poor business practices. I was selling my home and needed to get what turned out to be $2500 of work done. I talked to Monica the first week of October and she set up an appointment for Jim to look at the work I wanted to be accomplished and give me an estimate. The appointment was set for October 10th. I passed onto her that I was looking to see if they could do a deferred payment and she did inform me they had been burned by clients in the past and did not know if Jim would do it or not, but said we could talk about it while Jim was at my home. So on October 10th Jim came to my home and looked at what needed to be done and I talked to him about deferring payment to closing of my home. He relayed to me they had been burned in the past and I understand if he did not want to do the work I would have been fine if he just said we are not going to do it unless payment is upfront, but that is not what they did. Later during the day on the 10th I received an email from Monica with an estimate for $2500 to do the work. I said that would be great and we set an appointment to get the work done. The work was set to be accomplished on the 24th and 25th of October. So work to start 14 days later, with our plan to have the house on the market around the 28th. On the 23rd I had not received any information from Jim or Monica as to a time they would start on the 24th, so I called the office and left a message. Of course no answer or return phone call. On the morning of the 24th, no workers at my house and still no phone call. I called multiple times over a few hours and they did not answer or call back. At this point I called my realtor and they reached out and were able to get in contact with Monica. She said they decided they were not going to do the work as a deferred payment. Again, I would have been fine with this, had they been upfront and told me on the 10th. So now with the house set to go on the market a few days later I was left looking for someone else to do the work. Here is the great part, I did find another company to do the work. They came out the next day and took a look. I showed them the estimate I received from Jim and Monica and the new company told me they were trying to charge me for parts I did not need. The following day on the 25th the new company came out and started on the work and had it done in two days. The house was delayed a few days going on the market. We went on the market October 31st. On November 1st we received four offers and actually just closed on the house on November 17th. The company that ended up doing the work has been paid and all is well. I just wish Jim and Monica would have been up front and told me on the 10th they had no intention of showing up fourteen days later on October 24th to do the work. Again, this is not a review of the work they do; this is a review of my experience dealing with Jim and Monica. I wish them the best, I have now started referring friends to the company that actually came out and completed the work and my realtor (a very large realtor company) is doing the same.
