Joe and his crew finished my basement last month. They were competitively priced and Joe was always available to take my call. They finished the job on time and did quality work. I highly recommend JH Basement!

During the time of Covid with building departments shut down and supply chain disruptions, JH Basement still came in on time, on cost, and my basement turned out more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!

Joe Hannah looks like he has written a lot of the reviews here. In truth, his subs were all first rate. The electrician, plumber, painters were all good and concientious. The work done by him and his sons was done as fast as possible - with the worst workmanship I have ever seen. Instead of properly shimming door frames during installation, they used 4 inch long staples and no shims to fill in the gaps leaving unsupported door frames that quickly became misaligned.. I never saw Joe use a square or level and his work showed this. It was all about fast - quality was no concern. Most of his work was not level, square, or plumb to the naked eye. And really bad when checked with a level and square. Cabinets were installed with poor alignment and screwed together at the tops only - no clamping, leveling or shimming - not exactly Holmes does it right quality. Mounting to the wall missed more than half the studs that were supposed to be used for support. They would have fallen down eventually. I finally kept the subs, fired him off the job, tore out most of what he had done and finished the job myself. All his subs say he is unreliable when it comes time to pay. Joe would only be OK to use in a student housing ghetto where the final project quality did not matter. Not recommended.

I’ve called several companies to try and get an estimate to finish my basement but no one was calling us back! I Called JH Basement and left a message and heard back the same day. Joe was on time for the estimate and came back out a week later with a very professional proposal. We hired Joe and are excited to start our project after the first of the year! I will update my review after the job is finished!

My wife and I discussed finishing our basement for a few years but it always ended up on the back burner. That had to change at beginning of this year. My father became ill and we needed to move him into our home to care for him. It became clear rather quickly that we needed to finish our basement to accommodate this change. We called several companies to get estimates and JH Basement was among them. The bids we got all came in pretty close to each other but we ultimately decided to hire Joe. When he came to our home he listened to our concern of urgency with my father moving in. He gave us great insight on how to best utilize our space with someone needing care. His professionalism, knowledge, and empathy for our situation won our business.
After signing the contract, Joe was great at communicating with us where we were at in the process, and what contractors to expect. There was not a single contractor that came to our home that portrayed anything less than the professionalism that Joe had on day one!
I was amazed that Joe and his team finished our job sooner than the original completion date! I was able to get my father settled in sooner than we expected and we could not have done that without Joe and his team! We are so appreciative of all the work they did and highly recommend them to anyone looking to have their basement finished!

I recently had the good fortune of finding and ultimately doing business with a basement finishing business. From start to finish, it was painless. My basement was transformed from a concrete vault that had provided nothing to a beautiful area that basically increases the square footage of livable area by 30 %. We will enjoy for years to come. We recently had JH Basement finish our 1400 sq ft basement. We had finished two bedrooms, one master bath, one 3/4 bath, a double-sided wet-bar, home theater and work-out room. The process was professional and timely. There were no additional charges, the work process went smoothly, a lock box was placed on the door so we did not need to be be present or bothered with the comings and goings. We had our home appraised directly after construction and the appraisal increase was for more than the basement cost. We are able to recoup our total investment. Joe and his team were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We had a ranch style home with an unfinished basement. The space was only partially dug out so the square footage to work with was small but Joe didn't hesitate to come out and meet with us. He was very professional, friendly, and helpful in giving us ideas on how we could best use the space. After taking measurements he came back the next visit with his design and quote for the job. We even decided to alter the original plan he drew up by keeping more storage space and Joe was very flexible in re-working his design. Joe's two sons did a lot of the framing and they were great guys as well. All of the people that came in i.e. electrician, plumbing, drywall, etc were very courteous and hard working. We were anticipating quite a bit of disruption and noise during the project but actually we hardly noticed the work was being done. I would highly recommend J.H. Basement and Joe personally to anyone looking to finish their basement area.

After looking at several companies we went with JH Basement Co. and are so glad we did. Joseph Hannah was very helpful in giving us ideas how to finish the 1300 sq. ft. project. They were able to start the job immediately and surpassed our deadline to complete the job. Every step of the way was done with very professional people. The finished basement far surpassed our expectations. We now have a full house instead of the half finished house. We love the special touches he suggested and we feel the basement has added great value to our home.

My Testimony. When I went to finish my basement I had a lot of reservations… Am I going to get my investment back? How much money will it take to do it right?? What design/layout to go with? Will it match the upper levels? How painful will the process be - managing contractors, dust/mess, cash flow? As such, I shopped 3 different companies. I ended up going with Joe and JH basements. I couldn't have been happier. Joe showed up with a very personal approach. He helped me through the design based on my needs and put the right living space together. We hired JH Basement to finish our basement in January. They did a wonderful job and made it very simple for my family. Our house was impacted very little by the project, and the basement itself was kept free of debris and clutter by the General Contractor and all Sub-Contractors.

There were no real issues with the quality of workmanship from anyone who worked on this project. Any minor items we pointed out during the construction process were addressed immediately and to our satisfaction. I am confident that anything that surfaces post-completion will be addressed with the same professionalism.

Joe Hannah is the best.  My complex project in the basement included a bar, sauna, bedroom and large entertainment area.  All work was finished in a timely fashion and to my complete satisfaction.  He and his crew even helped move the mail ordered futon down to the basement.  He worked hard to find good value on cabinets without sacrificing on design and quality.  He even suggested installing a cat door so the cats could get to their boxes without having to go through the finished part of the basement.  Everyone who sees my basement is extremely impressed with the beauty and design.  Joe is an honest contractor and is true to his word.  I would use him again, and recommend him unconditionally.

Before choosing JH Basement I researched several other contractors and found Joe’s work was the best quality for the money. We called several of his references and even went over and viewed their basements. We made several design changes along the way and Joe was very helpful in guiding us through the process. His workers were all very qualified and did excellent craftsmanship. I especially liked the tile and granite work done in the basement and found it to be outstanding quality work! We did a theatre seating entertainment area, bedroom,bathroom, and full bar area. We even used his carpet company to finish our entire home. Joe was always available to come over and discuss any concerns and changes to the project. He was good at communicating when work was to be done, what to expect along the way, and a completion date. He helped keep us on track on our budget also which was a plus! I have already talked with him to redo our bathroom and other house remodel projects. My husband and I hired JH basement to finish our basement last month. We are thrilled with their work. We have even joked about moving completely into the basement because we love it more than our upstairs, Their good faith estimate was dead on, they were on time, very friendly and professional and even built an entertainment center beyond what we pictured.

I have heard many horror stories about contractors and to honest was worried to allow someone in my home for weeks at time. I was bold enough to share this with the contractor and he was very sensitive to the issue. They loaded all the materials through our basement window to ensure my carpet wouldn't have an additional ware and tare. They even used our walk out entrance instead of our front entrance to give us more privacy. I have never heard of a contractor being so accommodating. Even the contractors sons were professional. It really is a wonderful family business. We never heard them working and were even able to freely entertain friends while they were working. The lockbox on the door was nice too because we didn't have to be home for them to work.

Overall I am quite impressed with this business and they even finished a week early which I have never heard of! My husband and I hope to move to our dream home in the next few years and JH basement will be one of our first phone calls.

My husband and I had Joe Hannah from JH basement finish our basement this winter and it turned out to be more than I could ever have imagined. Being a Christian company and coming in at a reasonable price is exactly what we were looking for.
The contractors were great and very professional. Trash and debris was cleaned up every day and nothing dangerous was laying around in case one of my kids walked down.

I am a little new to this review process but now that more and more people are looking up reviews before deciding on a contractor, I did think it was important. No one likes home construction, people in and out of your house and the perceived mess there is going to be. JH Basement Finish put a lockbox on my door with a key in it and told me that I never had to be home or work around their schedule. They kept the house clean, were polite and answered the phone every time I called. That doesn t always happen with a company and it did every time with them. Joe knows what he is doing and gets it done. I noticed on the website a Christian emblem and by Joe's actions I could tell they are a Christian company. They were honest, trustworthy and made the whole process less daunting. Contractors have a bad reputation to some people but if you are looking for an honest deal, a handshake you can trust - this is the contractor. Thank you Joe it is beautiful.

Making such a big decision as the one to have your basement finished requires a lot of research, talking with past clients and finding out as much as you can about a company. I did all these things and it paid off!!!!! Joe came out gave us a free estimate and prepared a drawing at no charge. He was clear about would be included down to the smallest detail. He put a lock box on the door so we would not have work around his schedule. He was more than willing to work with us on any changes we wanted during construction, many of which did not even incur additional costs. Joe and his sons exemplify what we all think of in a family business, accessible, courteous and considerate. In the end, we loved all the contractors, we felt heard, and the finished project is so lovely we cannot wait for our friends and family to come over and see it. JH Basement is a definite recommend, only wish I had another basement to finish. Joe Hannah is respected even among other contractors. When we told them we went with JH Basement and Joe, they assured us that we would have a great outcome, and we did!!!

I'm a stay at home mom with 2 young kids so believe me, my husband I did our research before selecting a company to finish the basement. We really needed someone we could trust and I could not be happier with JH Basement. Joe's contractors were great, especially with my 3 year old who loved having 'worker men' at our house every day. My wife and I recently had our basement finished by JH Basement Finish and were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. The work was completed in the amount of time agreed to and the cost was exactly as contracted except that we added a few items during construction which Joe was more than willing to accommodate the change orders. The basement was kept clean and Joe and his sons (this is a family business) could not have been nicer to work with. The communication was good and although there was a lock box on the door so that we did not need to be home for workers to arrive, Joe always kept us informed as to what the next step would be.
