JNS Development is a shady company! I have a couple of instances that show this egregious lack of integrity.
My husband and I had been looking for a house for several months in our Florida town.
My husband is in a wheelchair we really have had to look hard for something accessible for him. We FINALLY found a house that was not under contract and was easy for him to maneuver in. While at the home the builder had come by to check some things out and we talked to him about how the house worked for my husband. Our realtor even told him we were leaving right then to put a contract on the home. We understand that the owner/builder has to agree to the contract before it is made official, but we were the first to put in a contract on the home. The next morning we found out that the builder is going with someone offering cash.
We understand that cash is king, but we had gone through the entire approval process for a loan and only have so many days to find a home and put a contract on it. When we finally find something and put in a contract on it, the builder goes with the person with the cash. We talked with him bout my husband’s issues and how the home is great for him.
Again, we understand the whole cash thing, but the builder/owner has no idea of how extremely hard finding a wheelchair accessible home is, even after we spoke about the home. And to make matters worse, the people did not have the cash in hand yet!!! They have to sell their home in another state first! After even talking with the owner/builder we still got screwed!
A few days later, after I had posted the above online, the owner of JNS reached out to my husband and offered him another home in the area. We were overjoyed as it has been so difficult finding a wheelchair accessible home. We moved in on 3/17/2021. While overjoyed that we are in a home, we have noticed issues that need to be resolved.
We have been contacting the builder for issues with the home, per our 2-10 agreement. We had a few issues with our garage door and the front door. These were finally fixed after constant calls to the builder.
We began experiencing issues with the floor in the summer. When you walk across the floor, there are dips and rises in the flooring. Some of the flooring is beginning to pops and sounds like it is about to crack. Also the floor is supposed to be a floating floor, yet they caulked the majority of the flooring to the baseboards. We have requested them to take a look at the floor and they sent the company who put in the floor (RiteRug Flooring) and he clearly stated their are “birdbaths” in the underflooring because the underfloor was not smoothed out before they laid the flooring.
We were then told by the builder to get quotes for the flooring, quotes to have our furniture moved out and back in, cleaning, etc. The builder screwed up the flooring. Why do we have to do the work? We have busy lives between work, school, doctor appointments, picking up meds, etc. The extra time we are taking to get this taken care of is extremely stressful. We did not mess up the flooring, the builder never did it right in the first place. They are the ones who need to do the work!
We have done all this and now the project manager we have been dealing with is now gone from this builder. Now we have to start this process all over. WE are doing ALL the work!!! We reach out to the builder who tells us to call the flooring company that installed the floor, and visa versa. We have called each numerous times and they keep passing us off to the other.
It is now December and we are now back at square one. We have reached out to 2-10 who holds out warranty. We have been told to get with the builder since we are in our first year. We have reached out and filed a complaint with 2-10, but still nothing.
Again, this builder is not taking responsibility for their mistake. We bought a NEW home so we would not have to have work done and we are running into issues already.
