This company was referred to me by my kitchen upgrade designer & contractor. My electrical needs were simple due to the basic layout of my kitchen remaining the same. All that was needed was
1. Switching the refrigerator dedicated circuit to a new outlet along the same wall
2. Installing 2 outlets above my new cabinets for LED low level lighting.
3. Running wiring from existing switches to transformer locations for LED under cabinet lighting
4. Installing a new outlet from existing switch of the garbage disposal.
5. Provide & install new outlet & switches (8 total) in existing kitchen outlets to meet current electrical code standards.
His technician's (only 1 person needed for this small project) was fine. The work was less than 4 hours work on 2 separate days (before & after
cabinet install). I was told to expect the cost to be no more than $500-$700. Joel Henry Electric is trying to bill me for a total of $1600 for this small amount of work & parts. That's 3X what I was given as an estimate!!!
After reviewing the supposed invoice he sent, I found several duplication of charges. I emailed him within two days of opening the bill asking for justification of this outrageous over-charge. I'm still waiting for an explanation.
The poor rating is base on his outrageous attempt to gouge a homeowner who trusted his contractor and a verbal estimate. If you use this company, BE SURE TO GET A WRITTEN ESTIMATE and watch the amount of work closely...
