May I first say that this is my very first online review, but felt compelled to share my experiences with this contractor. Please read this review if you are considering working with this contractor.
John was referred by our general contractor as a subcontractor for our kitchen remodel. It was clear from the beginning that John was disorganized, erratic, and flaky, but seemed knowledgeable, experienced, and insightful. We hesitantly signed on with John in August 2019 with him providing a timeline of 2-4 weeks (we did make a change from European to framed/inset cabinets prior to him beginning the job with the understanding that it would take up to 2-3 more weeks).
He was initially productive and performing reasonable quality work. Unfortunately, this only lasted for a couple weeks. He frequently requested payment earlier than that contractually obligated. Once he was nearly 3/4 paid for the job he became sparsely present and when present, unproductive. Through constant prodding (countless text messages and phone calls) we were able to get our cabinet boxes and frames installed and painted in time for our countertops and appliances to be installed. Unfortunately, the work quality dropped off precipitously with John rushing to complete this portion of the job, some of which had to later be redone.
The subsequent 3+ months John strung us along providing varied excuses until we finally had to fire him in January 2020 (approximately 22 weeks after starting the job), still not having a single painted door or drawer installed. Our general contractor also decided to part ways with John and, to my knowledge, is no longer recommending John for any kitchen jobs.
Ultimately, I would not recommend hiring this contractor. Although, I feel he is a capable experienced contractor he is unreliable, disorganized, and unprofessional. He will not meet your expectations, especially if you have a timeline. Please spare yourself the stress and anxiety and find another contractor.

John does excellent work. His kitchen cabinets and drawers are smooth and look fantastic. He designed a great kitchen in an odd space.

It's a shame what one negative comment or review can do to ones work. John did a kitchen for us in the city and gave us a good price and a wonderful kitchen back in 2015. It still looks as good as when he finished

Hired John Levkulich from a referral from a neighbor. Loved his work. Has been in numerous magazines and comes up with great ideas. Have recommended him to everyone I know seeking home renovations

this guy does not do good work if he finishes the job at all. He creates reasons for why the customer should have to pay more for items that were in the contract. He also argues with the customer and tries to intimidate them into doing something other than what they want. He will rip you off.

We hired John to redo part of our kitchen remodel & sad to say he was very unreliable. We never knew when he would show up to do work & then when he did arrive he only gave us about an hour or very rarely two hours of work. Very disorganized. He never did fully complete his work for us. We were so dissatisfied with his work that we told him to never comeback.
