John is a very capable contractor in terms of work completed. However, he took a job to help with property maintenance. He was paid up front for the job. Things were fine at first. I paid him for extra work done. He said he never got the check. I paid him again, he said he never got the check. I'm starting to get suspicious since he got and cashed the upfront check. Plus, yes, he was paid up front. I ask if there's a way to pay him by paypal, anything. He won't take my calls. Only texts me. I fedex'd him the extra work check. He got that and cashed it. And told me he was quitting. No 2 weeks notice, nothing. He won't take my calls. He texts about where he should send me back my keys. I said fedex overnight with tracking. Now it's 2 weeks later. I have no keys. He won't answer phone, email or text. And I have no keys. It's classic passive aggressive behavior. It's unprofessional. Plus he owes me money from the up front payment that I'm not expecting to see. I was true to my word. I wouldn't trust his.
