JOS Equity Management have recently aligned themselves with Alonso Construction Services and I have had a terrible experience with them. Alonso Construction Services is not licensed and has a questionable reputation with the Better Business Bureau. If you Google Alonso, you will find other homeowners that have had problems with this contractor in the past. I hired Alonso to provide the labor for the construction of a deck and gazebo. His crew started the project and he billed and billed for his labor. It was my mistake that I actually paid him more than the work he had performed but he made his invoices very confusing so be careful with this guy. Over 3 weeks ago he was supposed to return to the project to finish his contract. He kept making excuses on why he couldn't be there. I knew he was working on another job, perhaps for JOS Equity Management Co. I had made some payments to him via credit card so I called my credit card company and disputed the charges. To date they have clawed back $1,200. That finally got him to come by the jobsite today where he threatened me and insisted that I pay him money he felt was owed him before he would come back and finish the work. This guy is not ethical in my book. The reason there were problems were because of everyone other than himself. He is mean, aggressive and a bit intimidating. Steer clear of these two guys. It will not turn out well for you in my experience.
