Dishonest contractor. John Peck, initially took my call for an estimate on some roofing work. He missed each appointment he set up, and had an excuse each time. Interestingly, his excuses were problems that occurred days after his missed appointments. When he showed up, he brought no ladders or any tools to measure or inspect the roof. A hail storm had passed through this area, and many home owners were having insurance work done. John boasted that "a majority" of local adjusters for my particular home insurance worked for him on the side and that he did not even need to look at anything but could guarantee us a new roof and partial siding. He even went so far as to claim he would fix our roof for free if he could not get us a new roof through insurance. He promised to have an estimate out the day he came to the site. The estimate never came. He then promised the estimate the next day and claimed some one was on their way to the property to drop off the estimate. Again it never came. At that point he did not return any phone calls. I would not trust this contractor to do any work on my property nor would I recommend his business to anyone else.
