I signed a contract agreeing to pay Richard Keefe $4000 for the removal of 13 trees from my property. In the contract it states haul all off property. He also has a mill. It turns out that he is milled everything and kept the wood for himself. He also badgered me to remove five additional trees that I was going to keep in place. He removed them and then proceeded to charge me an extra $2000 for the small trees. None of that was in the contract. To this day I have received absolutely no firewood from him and none of the lumber whatsoever. Do not trust this contractor as he is very dishonest. He is also not a gentleman. My late husband and I have known him for years. No sooner than my husband passed, then this man really came on to me. He said some very rude things to me.
I would not recommend him to anyone. -

Keefe's knock down and burn of a damaged barn was efficient and satisfactory.
But the rebuild of the barn after one year has yet to be finished. After many excused for the delays and missing the June 20, 2019 deadline to finish the barn build, Keefe offered to finish the build at no extra charges. He signed and marked contracts, paid in full.
Weeks and months go by not hearing from him. He only shows up after I call and ask when and if he intends to finish the build. At this time there are support post and particle boards around the sides that are warping and separating due to no roof and rain.
I would not recommend Richard Keefe as a contractor to build.

Just imagine the worst, most stressful experience you’ve ever had. That’s what you’ll get from this guy. AND he won’t finish the job no matter what he puts in writing. He takes your money, puts you through hell, missing deadlines, doing things you don’t want him to do and not doing the important time sensitive things. He’s all talk. Don’t give him your money. ANYONE ELSE WOULD BE BETTER! He doesn’t even bring the right equipment for the job. I could go on and on but I’m not wasting anymore time or energy on this lying S. O. S.
