I cannot speak to his quality of work because he never showed up to do any. We met with Scott at the end of January for a project we needed completed by April 1. He assured us he could do the job and within a few days quoted a fair price. He then informed us that he was going on vacation for 3 weeks in February and was uncomfortable with his crew working the job without his supervision and wanted to begin the job in March. He assured us the job would be completed within 3 weeks. We agreed to that as we were impressed with him at the initial meeting. We contacted him the last week in February to confirm his start date the first week in March, which he confirmed by saying he would be here 10 am Monday morning. At 8:30 am that Monday, he sent us a text to say he "confused our job with another one he had" and would not be able to begin until the following Monday. I reminded him again that our timeline was completion by April 1 and he again assured us that was doable. The following Monday (March 11) as I was preparing for his arrival, I noticed an email he sent us at 5:30 am that morning informing us that he would "be out of commission" as of March 14th for another 2 weeks so he would not be able to start the job until sometime in April. I was understandably upset as we began this process in January to avoid this job not being done by April. His "solution" was to hand off the job to the crew he was "uncomfortable with working the job without his supervision" while he was on vacation in February (and the reason we put off the job for 4 weeks). We passed on that offer for obvious reasons and now find ourselves mid-March with the project not even started. While his excuses for not be able to do the job within the timeline he promised may very well be valid it doesn't change the fact that he didn't do what he said he would do and the manner in which he informed us (a text stating "confusing our job with another one" and sending an email at 5:30 am the morning of the 2nd start date to cancel for a second time) feels very unprofessional and dismissive and for those reasons we could not recommend him.
