Permits
- Building permit records show that Lighthouse Construction of Nc has worked on 53 permitted projects.
We used Lighthouse Construction on a first floor renovation which included a redesigned rear of the house including the kitchen.
Our pluses
Working with his architect and recommended cabinet maker. They both helped us put together the design. Cabinets are beautiful.
David is pretty easy to work with and wants his customers to be satisfied. He has a pool of subs he uses and he is diligent about obtaining a reasonable and justifiable bid.
We have had him come out a take care of a few minor things (caulk, etc)
He was helpful in directing us on a few other issues outside of his job that we were working on.
Our negatives
Mecklenburg County building inspectors and the permit process. Permits took forever. Inspectors nit-picked us even on some things that ended up being a pass to begin with.
Didn't think much of the electrician - scatter brained and unpredictable schedule.
The framers - David and I agreed the new siding was to be backprimed. And the siding should have been smooth side out and is rough. Most people probably wouldn't notice. Miscommunication somewhere.
And of course we went over budget. We really did not have a solid design in place at the get-go. We really needed the help of the architect to bring our thoughts to a reality. And there were a few minor changes along the way.
We would use him again - absolutely!
