I hired M. Acierno Construction to rebuild my porch. The job took longer than scheduled. Six months after the job was completed the cement cracked and leaks started. The problem got worse with each rain. Mike would not fix this problem and refused to refund any money. I would not recommend this company.

Do not hire Mike Acierno. He is the most unprofessional contractor I have ever had the displeasure to be around. What should've been a creative and exciting journey of renovating a two bedroom condo in Greenpoint slowly turned into a nightmare. Tiles were installed incorrectly and then had to be re-tiled. Baseboards of the wrong thickness were installed all throughout the apartment and had to be ripped out and reinstalled. Workmanship overall is very poor. I wish I could upload photos here. Placement of shower and sink plumbing done incorrectly and tiled over. Now tile has to be ripped off a second time to correct the mistake. Our Lutron light switches installed upside-down. And many many more mistakes. He kept telling us "I'll be there next week" and finish job. Next week came and no sight of him or his crew. Then when finally reached he promised to be there next week. Again next week came and nothing. We naively play this charade with him for many many weeks. In reality, he refused to return to finish the job and fix his mistakes but was waiting for us to finally fire him. That is what I call a COWARD! Someone who as no respect for his clients or his chosen profession. DO NOT HIRE MIKE ACIERNO if you value time, money and most importantly your sanity. We now have to hire another contractor to finish Mike's job.

Omg. After a long ten months of working with Mike, we too finally fired him. All the broken promises of " I will be back everyday next week" just got old. We had no heat in our basement and this guy goes on a three weeks vacation. Comes back the fourth with sincere desire to complete the job and shows up for an hour Monday then none on the next day. We knew then he was too tired with the job but was too proud to say I can't do this anymore. So we helped him and did what should have been done six months ago. We now have to look for a replacement and may have to redo somethings that were done just like all the other clients who placed their reviews. Never again will we work with him.
