Pat Magness is a former ball player, and while 3 out 4 is good in baseball, it's not acceptable when painting the sides of your home.
About 10 months after Magness painted our home, I noticed bubbling in several spots on one side of the house. I contacted Pat, and he said he'd look into it. Well...fast forward about 6 months, and still nothing. Pat didn't communicate, didn't return texts, and gave me little assurance that he'd fix the problem.
After months of patience, I became angry and demanded a fix. Pat was extremely rude and condescending, and he also blamed the bubbling on the house, not on his work. Every other professional I asked said that the issue was due to poor prep by the painter. I'm not sure how Pat was so confident in the work of his crew since he was never present during the job.
Anyway, Pat refused to stand behind his work. He reluctantly offered up the labor but made me buy the paint. I did, but what Pat didn't know is that the $75 can of paint cost him tens of thousands of dollars in repeat business and referrals that were already lined up for him through us.
In fairness, I will say that the other three sides of my house look good...but this isn't baseball and 3 out of 4 doesn't cut it here. Hey...I get it. Mistakes happen. I definitely would have used Pat again if he would have communicated with me and taken care of the issue in a timely manner. But he didn't...and I could never use him, or recommend him again.
