  Frame a new house.

  I hired McCoy Construction to frame a +/-3,000sf house for me, just north of Sherman, Texas. I've been in the construction business all of my adult life, and have seen thousands of residential construction projects. The attention to detail and professionalism that McCoy demonstrated on my project was second to none. The entire structure, walls ceilings, etc, were straight, level and plumb. Without any doubt or hesitation, McCoy Construction should be highly considered if you are looking for a true professional and fair pricing.

  My sister and I inherited our father’s house in Leonard. We found Mr. McCoy through mutual acquaintances. Each time we called, he was curt and acted as if he couldn’t be bothered. We told him upfront that we have never owned or renovated a house before. He came out to the house when we were out there one weekend. He walked through saying the work we had would be “standard” and he didn’t take any measurements. He texted amounts without details, specific bid or a contract. We called to request a bid with details and scheduled a time for someone to go out. He still didn’t send a contract but did send a bid. He rescheduled and said he didn’t have workmen for part of the job. After speaking to our realtor, we decided to wait until the inspection to see what wouldn’t pass for us to sell the property. When we said we were going to hold off on the repairs for now, he said, “Are you freaking kidding me right now? Your cancelling on me! What am I supposed to do with these supplies I bought?” Suddenly the “standard supplies” were a financial drain. Not having ever owned a house, my sister said, “What do you want to do with the supplies?” He said, “You know what.” And hung up. The sad thing is that my aunt lives in the area and needs work done on her property and a very dear friend of ours has rental properties in the area and is looking for a new contractor. Any person who mistreats a grieving family while they are trying to deal with an estate is not worth wasting your time or energy. Find another contractor!
