I hired MCK Builders to replace all my windows. The window manufacturer that I ordered the windows from delivered windows that were not appropriately measured and Mike was able to work with what I had and made my house look absolutely beautiful.

In 2019 I hired MCK Builders (Mike Roy) to make our bathroom handicapped-accessible for my husband, who had been in a serious accident and was expected to need a wheelchair or walker when he was ready to leave the facility he went to from the hospital. Mike began the job without giving me a contract, said he forgot it. It turned out he never wrote a contract. He said "I trust you, we don't need a contract" after his workmen had torn walls down. I should have asked him to leave the house at that point, but I made the wrong decision and let him continue the renovation. Mike forgot to tell the shower/tile installer that the shower was to be barrier free, so the shower has a 2" lip as a barrier. Mike lied to me and told me the space was too small for a barrier- free shower. After the shower was finished the installer told me there was plenty of room for a barrier-free shower, but he was not asked to give a quote for a barrier-free shower. A privacy wall is too long and may keep my husband from getting past it while using a walker. Using a wheelchair is out of the question because Mike did not widen the doorway, which he said he was going to do. Mike lost his temper several times, yelling at a vendor and accusing me of "changing things" when all I wanted were the items I wrote on the estimate Mike had given me. He ignored everything I wrote. Since he decided not to give me a contract, I could not dispute the things he was doing that I did not want in the renovation. He never had anyone from the town inspect the work he was doing. I trusted that Mike would renovate the bathroom into the handicapped-accessible room I had described, and I did not get that. I was intimidated by him when he lost his temper and yelled so loud his face turned red. I wish I had told him to leave at the first mistake. This was a terrible experience.
