Letting anyone and everyone know to NEVER use McKelly Roofing's Services LLC in Albuquerque. The owner of this business is Kevin Kelly. He took $35,000 of insurance claim money for a severely damaged roof and did a lousy TPO layover on the roof of our house. The insurance company had deemed the original roof severely damaged and clearly stated in their claim report to remove the old roof and replace it with a brand new roof. Mr Kelly decided to make some easy money by ignoring the adjuster's recommendations and just do a layover! The TPO was incorrectly installed AND Mr Kelly did not pull permits so did not have to worry about an inspection. Fast forward 3 short years later and here we are the new owners of a home with ceilings that are leaking in 4 rooms, water trapped under the entire TPO roof, black mold on the interior wall boards and inner ceiling panels!! We had the house inspected in Jan 2022 when we bought it but the roof was deemed OK. It was only 2.5 years old. When I contacted Mr Kelly he told me the warranty was not transferable - too bad, so sad! Martin Romero (Head of the State CID) is unwilling to help and directed me to Bernalillo County. Bernalillo County Building Department said it's not their problem as "It's a civil issue". In fact, Bernalillo County sent me the Permit violation for having an unpermitted roof (even threatening me with imprisonment in jail!!). I've written to the State Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau over a month ago and received no reply. The replacement cost for tearing off the current roof, the original roof, and a brand new roof is close to 100K! It is incomprehensible to me how Kevin Kelly can still be in business and how the New Mexico government can just turn a blind eye to this type of behavior. I just want to make sure that I warn other homeowners of this business and this roofer.
