Earlier this spring, we hired Mountaineer based on shining online reviews. Unfortunately, we were incredibly disappointed with their lack of care and overall unprofessionalism.
They were hired to simply dig a trench, and extend our sump pump drain pipe. In the process of digging, they cut through our internet/orange communications cable with their shovel and lied about it.
My husband, who was working from home, immediately noticed the internet cut out and went out to check with the service guys, who insisted that nothing they would've done would have impacted our internet. They "completed" the job, and we were left to spend hours attempting to reset our internet, and were forced to reach our to our internet company multiple times. First, they sent us a new modem & router to try, but eventually verified the issue was a cut communication wire (go figure).
Mountaineer's error caused us to be without WiFi for nearly a week, forced in several hours of commute time to my husband's schedule during a time when gas prices were high, and ultimately cost us hours of unfruitful communication with Mountaineer's customer service team who refused to re-evaluate the thousands they charged us because we couldn't "prove" their guys cut the wire.
Had we known we could have saved thousands and avoided the hours we've wasted on this, we would have done this plumbing job on our own a million times over (or hire a more professional company to do it cheaper). Do not recommend using Mountaineer for any type of service.
