We hired Andrew to do some projects in our house we had not completed such as complete the flooring in our closet, nail down all baseboards/caulk them upstairs/downstairs office, and install 5 transfers. He came out on 9/18 and did a walkthrough so we could show him what needed to be done. He sent an invoice for $480 for 8 hrs of work. He came on 9/25 at 8:55am with his daughter to complete the job. After a few minutes in he mentioned he couldnâ t complete the closet because we didnâ t have enough flooring which is understandable and our fault that we thought we had enough... however he then went in to saying he didnâ t have the tools to complete the transfer and it would take a lot more time and another estimate to do it.... surprisingly since he had already come out to do the walkthrough and knew the work to be completed... he then went to work on nailing in the baseboards upstairs and allowing his daughter to do the caulking.... my wife didnâ t think much of it at the time however you would think that the licensed bonded person should be doing the work period. Andrew continued to come and tell my wife what he could not complete because heâ d need more time and different tools to do despite him doing an original walkthrough prior. My wife was understanding and said she would like to know how much it would cost and when he could come back to which he responded with Iâ ll let you know and send you an invoice later this evening. They finished at 11:58.... When my wife asked how much we owed for the work he quoted $480 still....... to which she responded that was for 8hrs of completed work.... he then recalculated and came to the amount of $240 which my wife paid. I arrived home to check the work MOST of the base boards were installed however the caulking was awful! There were places that it was not caulked at all, large gaps between caulking or it had been smeared all along the walls. To say that I was upset with the quality was an understatement!! Andrew sent another invoice for 8hrs of work at $480 again. We explained how we felt about the work that was done to which Andrew responded that it was our fault and there was more work then he originally was told and if we arenâ t happy to find someone else. (We have the original request posted to Facebook and all the before and after pictures weâ d be happy to share if ever needed) While we absolutely understand there may have been things he could not complete that day this review is specifically relating to the quality of work that was done not on anything he couldnâ t finish because he was ill prepared. As a professional if he had said I apologize you are unsatisfied let me see what I can do or letâ s talk through it we may have been able to work past it but for the response to be about this being our fault and go find someone else is completely unprofessional. If I could give zero stars I would have Iâ m looking at my baseboards still questioning what I paid $240 for?? I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND him for any flooring work!!!!
