I had several contractors come out over the course of about 2 years and not a single one followed through with so much as an estimate. I brought in a geotechnical engineer and Matvey foundation to inspect the retaining wall that collapsed after 1 year. They gave me very high estimate without a solid solution to the wall failure. It was frustrating. I contact MTJ pavers and construction, Mario came out and he known right away about the problem he gave an on-site estimate and followed through his step by step planning. Mario was on time for the estimate and gave me a very competitive bid with no corporate hard sell
Before starting to build a foundation for the wall. He used Tamper Rammer to compress the ground (about 1 foot deep). A compact vibration plate was not strong enough to compress the soil.
Mario and his team removed the collapsed wall, the old gravel and pointed out several mistakes made by a previous construction, like the foundation was not properly built and the draining failure because wrong pipe and drainage rock .The workers were skilled at what they do and very pleasant to deal with. They worked so hard and got the job done quickly. Rose Fowler was helpful and efficient every time I called her she explained about the material such as type of rock, different type of drain pipe and geotextile fabric for separating the rock and soil. Can't say enough good things about these guys! They were attentive and professional the entire time. They followed through with what they said and kept constant communication. They worked so hard and get the job done. They did an exceptional job. My retaining wall was finished on time and looks absolutely amazing. After 2 years, my retaining wall is still standing against heavy rain and snow. Mario was at my home last week to inspect the wall. Great job!
We are so pleased and would recommend this business highly.
Construction was completed on September 2017.
