My 89 year old mom had cabinets installed in her small mobile home bathroom.
She saved up several years for it and was excited to have it done. The cost was four thousand four hundred dollars. This was during the height of the 'lumber crisis.' The cabinets are constructed of particle board. Drawers are plywood. All looks good, not perfect, but now wondering why so much for 'non' wood. Never got a contract, just precise measurements written down by hand on two sheets of paper. Owner was kind enough to drive from Ventura to Newbury Park to attach drawer pulls on his day off, as my mom hadn't yet chosen them on day of installment. Quite angry with my mom at first, he completed the job nicely and obligingly. Installers had incorrectly left plywood sheets attached to top of cabinets, so owner had to remove those too. Freshly painted walls were 'nicked' in several places in the process. Plumber had to cut up back of vanity cabinet in order accommodate the PVC coming out from the wall. Another additional cost.
It breaks my heart to see my mom so disappointed, she says it's all OK, but OK is like going out to a well known, fine dining restaurant, paying a lot of money and having an OK experience. Not good. I feel terrible because I told my mom about the fantastic reviews this company had. Don't know what happened here...
