Owner
We recently purchased a home from a contractor representing Next Step Shelters. If we had to rate them on the quality of their work,we would have to rate them at a minus five for the following reasons:
1. Next Step Shelters and or Veterans Landscaping is responsible for beaming two basement walls in our new home. The same contractor whose website boasts of 14 years experience working with foundations, bowed walls, and steel beaming,is the same contractor that did not water plug the anchored beams and the beams are not installed to code.As a result of this over site we now have water and dirt coming up through the holes where the beams have been placed.
2. Next Step Shelters is responsible for removing a 220 outlet for the dryer( after the inspector had been into the home) to install a heater into the upstairs bathroom and did not replace that outlet.
3. Next Step Shelters was to have repaired a leak coming from a whirlpool tub on the second floor which when filled leaked water from a recessed fixture on the first floor. The contractor did cut a much larger hole into the ceiling but that was all they did.Standing below that much larger hole that they had cut,we would suggest that someone would have to turn on the water in the sink and toilet upstairs,as well as the tub,in order to find the cracked pipe that was right above them.
4. Said contractor(s)also chose to write on a hardwood door a message with an ink pen.
5.Said contractor(s) also scratched the top of the bar in the basement as well as leave their beer cans with their cigarette butts in for someone else to clean up.
6. Said contractor(s)did not forget to take their 30pack of beer, but did forget to take all the drywall and the insulation that they tore off the walls.
After many attempts(5) to contact Michael Roush to find out which company had done the work in the basement and receiving no response,we can only assume that he is the responsible party.
