Horrible experience! we contracted for a small project that was suppose to take 3 weeks. 8 months latter we contacted the subs to finish the job, paid them direct and did some of the work ourselves. We then contacted one tree told him to send final invoice cause we were done. When we got the final invoice it was 3 times the original amount. We were billed for 3 coats of paint when primer was the only thing on most of the walls. For the work that was completed, I provided other bids to show he was gouging on the price. The response "I did the job, not them". expecting us to pay his grossly inflated price. Poor work, extremely poor communication, and not honest. He does not keep an eye on his workers, doesn't visit the work site and has no idea what work is actually accomplished and what is not. Never use this company!!!

My experience with One Tree Development almost met my expectation. The service was really good at first, they came and worked almost every day but the quality was just ok in some aspects of the job. Good point -Sheetrock, mud, framing, some plumbing The Sheetrock went up very quick and the mudding was ok, missed a few spots but came back and fixed most of them. The paint was done ok also but again spots were missed and they had to come back and fix them (still only looks ok). The framing was great Setting the toilet was challenging but the job done was great. Disappointments -electrical, some plumbing The light above the sink was placed too high and so we couldn't use our original light we planned. We had to go and buy a new light that would work. The plug was placed way too far from the wall and I have to move it so the mirror will fit. The shower head sits low and the shower around the outside was not sealed with caulk. Had to move the water line for the sink because it was put in too low. Plumbing Moved the drain in the bathroom to accommodation a shower but the drain was not placed right. This meant the stand-up shower was installed incorrectly because the instructions that came with the shower were not followed and I was told if they had to cut concrete and move the drain again I would have to pay for it, even though they made the mistake they refused to fix it correctly. They installed the shower with wooden braces for support but it still didn't seem to fit exactly right. This was the most disappointing part of the project. (The shower still looks pretty good though) Tile and Carpet One tree did not do the carpet or tile because the samples they showed me were very limited and the price was 3x what other companies wanted. Conclusion: I would not recommend this business to others, at times it seemed because my project was small it didn't get the attention I had expected. The workers tracked paint up my stairs and out onto my driveway. The cleanup was very poor after each step, I swept up at least 4 times because I needed to still use some of the living space. It was hard to come to a compromise on many things even though I offered to pay for some of the repair on the shower I felt ignored. Some things I felt were covered in the contract ended up costing me more in the end. I have had to move plugs, change electrical boxes and fill holes that should have been done as part of the project. Overall I am happy that the work got done and I didn't have to do it, but not happy I am having to work on it myself after the fact. Things I wish I would have done before the project began: -Put together and extremely specific list of what I expected out of the project for the price that was stated. -Been more involved in over seeing the project to make sure everything was done as I wanted. -Further investigated the company by getting a hold of past customers. -Be specific that if there is a mistake its their responsibility to fix it correctly and have it in the contract. -Got more bids for the project. -Made sure it was clear that I would not pay any additional costs without them first notifying me its additional. -Made sure the contract included everything I expected, right down to the color on the walls. Main reasons this review only gets three stars is the unwillingness to fix the shower correctly, the poor job on the paint, the additional work I still have to do, and the additional costs that I felt were defined in the original bid.

The owner made a good first impression, was courteous and said all the right things. He estimated my new deck would be complete in one week, two at the very latest. Almost three weeks later, it's not even half done, and his staff only shows up once every four days or so (only for a few hours) to work on it. He acted put out when I called him to find out what was going on, and to get a new timeline on when it would be finished. For the $11,000 I'm forking out, getting told "well, we're really busy, and most companies take at least eight weeks on something like this," is maddening. Don't make promises you can't keep.
