My friend wanted to fix her house up and she was so happy. These guys took advantage of her and left her with a mobile home that is falling apart with pieces everywhere. She won't let anyone come over and barely speaks to anyone since this happened. She is the nicest person in the world. We warned her but she kept saying they would finish it. Brendan Curran the owner gave his word that he would take care of it and has done nothing. If they could do this to her, they are no good. In all honesty, do not let them touch your home.

DANGER DANGER DANGER DANGER DANGER
Paragon General Contracting Inc. is only one of the names that Mr. Brendan Curran hides behind. Whatever the name he is using today, do your homework. It takes some time, but here are some hints.
Check out the Better Business Bureau under the name of Structural Pro Inc – another of Brendan Curran’s (now former) companies. I have also filed a complaint against him and Paragon General Contracting Inc. Both are listed as unresolved, and if you ask for a copy of the file to be emailed to you, you can look at the details. My complaints are not detailed with any specificity because I was hoping that Paragon would make good on its contract without further public embarrassment, but I was mistaken. Both complain about uninspectable work not being done – though paid for - and property damage.
I have filed a complaint with the S. C. Dept of Licensing (http://www.llr.state.sc.us/). An inspection has already been done and I will be appearing at a hearing. (Case No. 2011-334)
In essence:
Mr. Curran charges for work he promises (and contracts) to do, but if there is no way for you to inspect what was done, then it will not be done. He also charges for work that he talked you into because he insists that your house will collapse if you don’t. Then he doesn’t do the work. He just takes the money. He tells you that the contract means one thing, but when it’s time for the work to be done – it suddenly means something else. Be sure to have a tape recorder running during any conversation with Mr. Curran because lies roll smoothly off his tongue. And don’t be taken in by the big gold cross he might wear to the initial meeting.
Mr. Curran’s painters are incompetent. They damaged my house – leaving paint in the carpeting, roller tracks on the ceiling, and drips on walls and woodwork. If the area to be painted wasn’t readily visible, it wasn’t painted (as in – behind / beside appliances – or the sides of window frames or doors or in upper areas that one has to see from a ladder. In one instance, he painted over masking tape). He insists that he painted a second coat, but it is obvious that many places only received one coat.
Mr. Curran’s caulkers are incompetent. They have done damage to the house that now needs to be repaired. Much of what actually was done needs to be gouged out and redone
Mr. Curran’s gutter installers are incompetent. Manufacturer’s instructions call for supports every 24”. The only area that I could reach to measure left a gap in support of 72”. Gutters did not extend to the length of the house. Some ends pointed upwards. Some downspouts were not properly attached or were non-existent. At the first heavy rain, the existing supports bent.
Mr. Curran’s carpenters are incompetent. They broke a piece of molding and didn’t even try to repair it. They just painted over the damage as if it had not occurred.
I could go on and on and on (an on) – but if you have decided to work with Brendan Curran under any of his company names, you deserve what you get – and boy! Will you get it.
By the way – Mr. Curran says that both he and his “project coordinator”, as listed on his web site, are licensed, but they are not. They are operating under the license of Robert Postal – who appears to be living in a post office box at The Mail Store. It is easy to check license status on the SCLLR web site. Do yourself a favor and check it out and insist on speaking with the licensee and request ID from that licensee. Then check out the address to make sure that it is a real address.
If you’ve been taken in by Mr. Curran, contact me. I’ll help you through the maze of red tape that you have to go through to bring these despicable business practices to the attention of the state and the innocent people of South Carolina.
