Luther was contracted to remove an old tub and shower and install a new shower base, walls, door, with accessories for $ 1,000.00 labor only and no trash removal. He and helper showed up on time and started in the morning, they had the demo complete and out of my house in 1.5 hours and then called me to let me know that no walls were delivered for the new shower-- while Luther kept on working I picked up a set of walls at Menards to keep the shower functional and him not having to stop work to run errands. He also told me the toilet needed to be replaced which he said he would do for $ 50.00 labor and I bought a new toilet at Menards while getting walls. So at the end of the day, he got the plumbing done, the temp walls installed and new base installed-- the door, accessories wall repair that he cut open for the plumbing was not completed by 830pm that night-- oh the toilet was installed. I helped them clean up as it was late and was curious how he would handle the situation ( payment for work complete ) as that tells you quite a bit about a contractor-- He wanted a check for $ 1,125.00 which I wrote and he said he would give me a good deal on completing the project when the correct walls were delivered. Over the next two to three weeks Luther would not answer the phone to arrange to finish the job or pick up tools he left at my house etc. I tried calling and emailing numerous times without any luck. I called a general contractor I do business with and asked if he could recommend someone to finish the job. Rodney Kessler the owner of Kessler Contracting jumped in to help me take care of this-- he arranged for one of his employees to help us out on a weekend, his name is Ben-- I can't say enough good things about Rodney and Ben-- the new shower looks amazing and Ben is worth every dime of his labor time he's put into this little project. Luther on the other hand sent me a text asking to pick up his tools left in my garage but did not offer to finish the project or write a check to us for the work he was paid for that didn't take place. In my opinion, he owes us $ 400.00 since he installed no accessories, installed no shower door, and repaired no damaged drywall details he cut open to access the plumbing that he actually did install. On a side note, he turned off our hot water heater and forgot to turn it back on which I found out about the following morning which was a eye opener to say the least. Luther may be a decent plumber but his project skills are a little lacking, his work speed is a little iffy, and his communication skills are God awful if there is a return trip needed or after he has a check in hand?????? My wife and I have to look at the bright side, we found out that Kessler Construction and their employee Ben was a diamond in the rough and I would recommend them for any small construction needs. As far as Peace of Mind goes, roll the dice, and hope for a 7 or 11-- we got snake eyes!!

Luther came over on the weekend when my toilet was leaking, fixed it, cleaned up, and went above and beyond to explain what happened and how to avoid it in the future. Amazing.

By Karen S.February 20, 2021Fix broken pipe, fix leaking toilets, reduce water pressure within the house.$1,300
We had a pipe break in our basement during a recent cold snap. Luther arrived on time the next morning, was very courteous and explained what needed to be done and why. Pricing was very reasonable and he cleaned up after the job was complete.

Luther installed a Utility Sink in my garage which allows me to easily bathe my fur babies and he also replaced a kitchen faucet. Luther & his partner were punctual, efficient, personable in addition to being reasonably priced. Luther also took the time to clean up his work area. The finished project was exactly what I had hoped for and I would highly recommend Peace of Mind Plumbing for any plumbing needs.
