BEWARE!
This developer sells houses that are "Lemons" then he doesn't stand by his homes. I'm certain the reason he stayed in business through the housing crisis is only because he sells a cheap house and the problems aren't discovered until it's too late for the buyer.
Problem #1:
The house was supposed to be finished by a certain date. (It was finished nearly 2 months late) And it was incomplete when we moved in. Of course the developer (who is a smooth talker) "guaranteed" it would be finished right after we closed and it was "all in the contract" and we could simply close on the house, move in, and they would finish the outstanding items in no time.
Long story short, only after months of literally harassing the developer could we get the outstanding items finished. (Which were in the original contract!)
Problem #2:
We purchased with a standard 1 year warranty. During the first year we found it extraordinarily difficult (i.e. we had to call, over, and over, and over again) to get him to fix problems we discovered. (I could go on and on about this...). Needless to say, there is no reason for this, a professional would get problems fix in a reasonable amount of time, without excessive reminding.
Problem #3:
Some problems from the first year have persisted past the original year warranty. The developer now claims the warranty was only for the first year, and he is no longer liable for future problems. This may be a reasonable argument, except many problems are the same problems from the first year that were merely masked (not actually fixed!) during the 1 year "warranty".
DO NOT BUY as house from this developer, unless you are willing to accept the problems above. YOU WILL experience the same problems, our neighbors who also bought from this developer have experienced similar problems.
BEWARE!
