If I could give him negative stars I would. Garry Tookes replaced our roof six years ago. Half of it is now literally falling off and we have leaks coming into our home. Our insurance company and the two roofing companies that have come out to look at it say that all the vents on the roof were even installed upside down. Insurance will not cover the roof because it was installed incorrectly. We continue to try and get in touch with Mr. Tookes who never answers and never returns our calls. We have left numerous voicemails telling him we just want him to make things right.

One of the worst experiences I have had with a contractor. I hired Garry Tookes to build our extension. He said he was familiar with all the trades. We maintained that he must have a team, he swore he would get one. He never did. Once he started the issues started with missing small details, and then larger and larger details. He failed the first inspection for the foundation pour and then it got serious. Under budgeting, never prepared, not fully understanding details. He builds our foundation a little too long and then a little too wide, then there were leveling issues, then, bracing issues, he under-budgeted/quoted framing costs by 20k, secondly, he did it all himself and never had anyone because they weren't getting paid. I finally hired someone else to finish the project and fired Garry. At this point he had stopped showing up, wouldn't answer phone calls, won't complete work he was paid for. Finally, when the new contractors showed up, they found his measurements were off. The main vault in our house wasn't centered, a door wasn't quite level with the windows and then when we went to connect the extension he had missed the height of the walls they were off by 3 inches. Do NOT HIRE THIS MAN. He does not know what he is doing.
