Our experience with Personal Touch Renovation was a nightmare. The flooring that he put down was unacceptable. Mr. Main thought it was good so we hired a state certified flooring inspector to get his opinion and he laughed and said it was one of the worse floor jobs. He did not prepare the floor properly and it could not be repaired it had to be replaced. We then had to hire someone else who took up the flooring prepared the floor and install new flooring at our expense of $6,000. When we met with Mr. Main to discuss his unacceptable work he got angry with us yelling and raised his arms up saying I done with you people and I'm not paying for floors. We then had to hire an electrician, plumber, trim carpenter and painter to finish the job at our own expense. If you are considering using this contractor you can contact me at 259 4740. We have many pictures and reports from state certified inspectors. We will also be filing reports with Better Business Bureau and Louisiana State Contractors Association. Mr Main would not talk to us to resolve the problem.

I purchased a home from a family who had used Personal Touch Renovations to build an addition to their house. I bought the house 2 years after the addition was completed. The construction was subpar at best. The owner of this business contacted me wanting to show his work to a potential client. I agreed, so I could talk to him about his subpar work. There was a big bubble in the flooring as you walked from the family room into the bedroom. He admitted that he didn't pour the slab correctly and it was too high. He offered suggestions on how to correct it....why didn't he when he realized it was poured incorrectly? The walk in shower has tile falling off the walls and was not caulked correctly. The drips of paint (called holidays) on the walls in the bathroom and bedroom show his lack of experience and his lack of professionalism, as do the areas he missed when painting. There are patches of dry wall showing. He obviously never went back to paint the areas. ToPerhaps Mr. Main needs glasses. Mr Main also put in new laminate in the family room and in the addition incorrectly. He had no vapor barrier under the laminate (it needed one) and he put the flooring all the way to the walls and then put the base boards on top. In the addition he had no way to attach the base boards to the walls because they were up against concrete. He nailed them to the slab. That's a huge no-no! Fortunately I have a friend who is an excellent builder and he ripped all the flooring up, evened the slab, repainted all the walls. The tile in the bathroom has not been addressed as yet. We're waiting to see how much is going to fall off before repairing it. On top of everything else, he managed to drive a pipe through the underground plumbing that had to be removed and the pipe repaired. While he was proudly showing this potential client his subpar work, and I was pointing out all the flaws he just kept making excuses for himself. Beware of hiring this company!!!
