    I called Mr. Persson in May of 2016 when I discovered that I had a leak through my roof.

    His company replaced the roof in May of 2014. I purchased the home in October but did not move into it until May of 2016.

    I told him in 2016 that I suspected that the vent for the gas fireplace was not properly protected from the outside elements at the roofline and that, as a result, the water intruded and leaked down to the fireplace box below. I suspected that the problem was apparent to him and/or the then homeowner as a great deal of caulk had been applied to the roof collar. The roof collar was replaced in 2016 but it hasn't solved the problem as additional flashing or a properly installed boot should have been provided in 2014. I can view the sky from the attic so it would be expected that water would intrude as well.

    At the time we spoke he denied any responsibility. I am continuing to have this problem and I strongly feel that his company is responsible.

    The contract that he provided the then homeowner states, that he will "install new aluminum drip edge on all eaves, new flanges on all plumbing vents, and new flashing where needed."

    Clearly, this company did not provide the service it promised.
