    Garage door opener

A+++ they are the best, are my go to for every home I've owned, and I constantly recommend them to friends and neighbors. They're super reliable, knowledgeable, and have the best prices around. I stumbled onto them when first looking for a garage door opener and after getting a few quotes, went with them. I've been using them ever since without even needing to browse elsewhere. Highly, highly recommended.

    install garage door
    $12,000

The installer was over an hour late arriving. The installer rip out the old garage door and pulled the frame from the house, leaving gaps between the frames. The new garage door was installed using our old brackets and where there are new brackets there are screws missing. The installer also installed the garage door that has a bracket cutting into our electrical box that is connected to the house. We called PECO and they stated not to use the garage, and it is our responsibility for the repair so with a new garage door, we have been left in a fire hazard situation and where someone can break into our home and we can’t use the garage door. The installer inform us these repair was our responsibility.

Where to start, when I ordered my doors I was told someone will come on out to take measurements and the whole process would take 4-6 weeks.

I called platinum and asked if they could call me prior to someone coming out to my house to let them in the garage because I already took down the old garage doors and placed plywood up over the opening but apparently someone already came out to my house for measurements. Okay not knowing any better I move forward with the process.

5 weeks later I call on a monday cause I haven't heard anything but Thanksgivingwas a few days prior. Only to be told that I was on their list to call and that my doors were not in yet but they will be ready for the following monday to be installed. I say okay and move forward with the process. A half hour later I get a phone call from Platinum stating they had a cancellation for Tuesday day if I would like them to come out and install then. confused cause i was just told they didnt have my custom doors in, I politely say no can't do that day let's keep monday.

I take off of work monday to get a call that half my doors are in Baltimore and they dont have them but they can come out Tuesday. Confused again cause they had doors for me the prior Tuesday, I agree and move forward with the process.

I take off of work Tuesday, the installer shows up with the doors and he looks inside the empty shell of a garage opening and says "I dont have the right door for this opening." "Did i come out and take these measurements?" confused again I look at him cause I have no idea who showed up to take the measurements. I call Platinum now I'm being told I have to wait until Friday to get the doors put in cause it's a different size but would it be okay to upgrade to the next level door. I agree and move forward with the process

I take off Friday the installer shows up and takes 8 hours to install the doors. Mind you it's an empty opening I already discarded the old garage doors and track. Its Friday night we had dinner reservations for 6 not thinking their employee was going to take up our afternoon and evening. Only to have him tell me that when he is done that the grinding is normal cause of how close it is to the wall and the when I want to lock it I have to step on the plate at the bottom so it can shift locking mechanism into the correct spot. Now I'm 230lbs and I had to bounce on the plate only to get one side of the garage to lock.

Not happy with the outcome I contact the company and they said they will send another installer out to fix the issues but it will take a few days. the next installer comes out fixes it within 2 hours no problem.

Now all this happen right around Christmas time I had to miss 4 days of work and I'm being told that it's okay we aren't going to charge you for the header like is was my fault their employee messed all this up from the beginning.

I would not recommend this company to anyone and to know they have a contract with the Home Depot to install for them is beyond words
