    Replace hot water heater

    Gas hot water heater died. Thank you for the most positive sales and installation service experience today. I called in morning and team arrived 1.30pm SAME DAY. They welcomed and said Hi to my kitty so he was most curious. The 2 installers explained what was wrong in layman’s terms. They gave an estimate, explained what was covered and what was not covered by the 6yr parts and labor warranty. So I compared with the estimate with one I had received earlier. They spoke about 2 different options. The guys worked quickly after I agreed. They installed SAME DAY. The water heater was good quality. They cleaned up when done. At end of the job, They explained what was installed and pointed out each of the parts on the invoice. They were polite and positive. They tested the hot water. It was a pleasure to have them as installers.
    Thank you for having good training and sending this team out to my house.

    Hose bibb installation

    They were contracted to install a hose bibb which was installed at the incorrect  installation angle, only supported by PEX and subsequently froze the valve stem of the bibb, causing its failure. He is bound by the International Plumbing Code, which states: 

    605.17 Cross-linked polyethylene plastic. Joints between cross-linked polyethylene plastic tubing or fittings shall com-
    ply with Sections 605.17.1 and 605.17.2.
    605.17.1 Flared joints. Flared pipe ends shall be made by a
    tool designed for that operation.
    605.17.2 Mechanical joints. Mechanical joints shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instruc-
    tions. Fittings for cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) plastic
    tubing as described in ASTM F 877, ASTM F 1807, ASTM
    F 1960 and ASTM F 2080 shall be installed in accordance
    with the manufacturer’s instructions.

    The PEX manufacturer's instructions state:

    "Hose bibbs shall not be supported by PEX tubing. Hose bibbs shall be
    anchored to prevent strain on PEX tubing"

    Save yourself time and money, go elsewhere. I gave him 2 opportunities to fix the installation.
