We had a terrible experience with Pyramid Design Group and would NOT recommend them to anyone.

Our initial experience with Pyramid was fantastic. They really understood our needs and our design intent and did a fantastic design in the time and budget that we had to work with. He self certified our job and the permits were able to be pulled immediately. He was very involved during construction and visited the job weekly. For this part of the job I give them an A+. We contracted with them initially in September 2015, filed our permits and began construction in November 2015.
We moved in to the house in May 2016, however due to some issues with Con Ed, the work was not complete at this time. The work was totally complete by the end of 2016 which brings me to part 2 of my review. Our permits are still not closed out (over 1 year later). Every time we contact Richard/Pyramid, we are told to give him 2 more weeks. So finally in September of 2017, he refiled our permit to correct the initial filing so that we can close it. It is now November and we still don't even have a date for the inspection. I realize that the inspection has more to do with the contractor than the architect, however our contractor was recommended to us by Richard and they have been working as a team. I give the contractor a solid C. He did alright on the interior work, but was totally unqualified for any mechanical, electrical, or exterior work that he performed for us and we have had to have all of that work redone since moving in. It is hard to give Pyramid a grade for this part of the job since the permit is still open (over one year later), however I am leaning towards a B- since he is still working on it just very slowly.
I recommended Pyramid to an acquaintance who had an absolute nightmare experience with them. I do not know the exact details of this situation and as you can see from above, my experience has not been horrendous and prior to 2017 I would have recommended them whole heartedly, however I would feel remiss in not mentioning this other experience to others.
