I hired contractor, John Rangel, owner, Rangel Contracting. HUGE mistake. When asked, John informed me that his license was current and I did not contact the state of Washington to confirm. When I discovered quality and deadline commitments that I paid a large dollar amount for high level work and was rec'g low grade work and commitment instead, I contacted the Dept of Labor and discovered that Rangel Contracting had their license pulled in May of 2015 for not renewing their insurance. I was looking for someone who I could trust for future projects, unfortunately, John Rangel, owner, of Rangel Contracting proved he could not fill those shoes at this time. Please contact the state of WA Dept of Labor before hiring this contractor to make sure he is in compliance before hiring and supervise closely. John chose not to keep lines of communication open in any form once the project started. He did not return calls, emails or texts. All forms of communication he had used prior to start of project for estimates and invoicing. Possibly he will be able to focus on great customer service once he is in compliance and committed to good work and ethical decision making.
