I'm writing this review so that you might decide to go with better contractors - almost anyone would be better, even the three stooges!!!
Raza Remodeling (aka "Monkeys with Tools") is made up of a bunch of bumbling fools, kids who have no idea what they're doing. Their work is embarrassingly devoid of quality, skill, beauty, or practical usefulness; and they themselves are completely lacking responsibility, honesty, or politeness. If you find out that any house you are considering buying was renovated by them, please run away as fast as you can to save yourself a lot of trouble and grief in the future.
Here are the "fun times" of our kitchen renovation by Raza Remodeling:
1. We showed them a sample kitchen the way we wanted ours to be by taking them to a friend's house. When they built a completely different one, and I asked Imran Raza, the manager, about it, he denied ever being shown the sample!!!!!! Talk about blatant LIARS lacking integrity, responsibility, and decency!!!!!
2. Even though we showed them that we wanted cabinets where the doors simply opened and closed without overlapping each other (like any normal everyday average kitchen), these geniuses installed doors on the cabinets where one of the doors in the pair had a panel (3 inches wide) attached vertically along the edge of the door. This panel stuck on one of the doors in the pair made it impossible to open one door in the set without opening the other and also made it impossible to close one door without first closing the other door. So, opening and closing the doors had to be done in a certain order each time. You wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry!! When I saw this, I thought "Is this some kind of joke? Are we on candid camera?" There are just no words for how awful this looked and functioned. Ughh!! They showed us only a sample of one of the doors in the set, the one without the panel, of course, when we made our decision to go with these cabinets. And then, again, despite us showing them a real life example of how we wanted the cabinets to function, they still went ahead and installed this XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX that they called quality cabinets!! They should be ashamed of themselves.
3. They left 3 inch gaps between some sets of cabinets which looked horrible and wasted space. (scream!!!) Then, they said they were going to cover these gaps with panels. However, the color of the panels did not match the color of the cabinets, and more importantly, the spacing of the cabinets looked horribly assymetric. These fools don't have a clue about quality workmanship, beauty, elegance not to mention just plain common sense!!!
4. The above-the-fridge cabinet was attached to the wall 1.5 feet away from the front edge of the fridge, so it was unreachable. We showed them a real life example of how we wanted the cabinet near the front edge of the fridge, but they simply didn't do this!!!! Then, they gave all kinds of excuses why they couldn't. Shouldn't they have said this before starting the job???
5. They didn't install a tall cabinet next to fridge as we had specified to them - blatant disregard for instructions. They said the cabinets we wanted didn't come like this and that our request needed to be custom built. But once again they neglected to tell us this before they installed the cabinets.
6. They made a big 2.5 inch asymmetric hole in the back of one of the wooden cabinets to pull out some electrical wiring, which later they realized they never needed to do at all since the wiring was supposed to come out elsewhere in the wall where there was no caninet. DUH!! The previous cabinets before the renovation didn't have any ridiculous holes in them for electrical wiring, so why would these need them???!!!!
7. The tile they laid on the kitchen floor was not leveled or grouted before they started installing the cabinet. We later found out from a real contractor who knows what he's doing that if the tile is not leveled, water that falls on the kitchen floor can seep into the carpet adjacent to the kitchen floor. Also, because the tile was not grouted before the cabinets were installed and the plumbing (kitchrn sink) was not hooked up, if there was a plumbing leak, then it would ruin the entire floor due to lack of grouting!!! It could even seep into neighbor's ceiling below us!!!
8. They left our place without locking door or letting us know so that our personal belongings were vulnerable to being stolen.
9. They left our circuit breakers off when they left so that everything in our fridge got ruined.
There are still several more glaring and laughable but infuriating at the same time blunders, but hopefully the above is enough to deter you from using these lousy contractors. We had to tear out everything and start from scratch with a new contractor since everything was completely unusable. I hope these morons get what they deserve in life for having an utter disregard for other people's property, time, and money.
I'm only posting all this for the benefit of others - so that you don't have to go through the same crap we went through.
