    remodel a small studio apartment and demolition work

    Do not give him any money up front and buy your own materials

    I paid him a $8,000 to remodel a small studio apartment. He put regular drywall in the shower area with huge gaps between the drywall right where most of the water would hit the tile. He bought hardly any materials for the project and just used left over construction materials from other commercial construction projects that are not even suitable for a residential unit. He never put in 220 wire for a stove and the washer and dryer. He put the toilet near the doorway and didn't leave enough space between the bathtub and vanity, so the new contractor has to move the plumbing. He spent two weeks just putting up drywall that he never sanded. In addition, he was paid to remove all the debris from the project and left it scattered all over the yard for 4 or more weeks.
